We support the FDA Citizen Petition to
1. Withdraw FDA approval (PMA) for all LASIK devices
2. Issue a Public Health Advisory with a voluntary recall of LASIK device

submitted to the FDA, on January 6, 2011, by Waxler Regulary Consultancy, in order "to stop the epidemic of permanent eye injury caused by lasers and microkeratomesused for LASIK eye surgery". The text of the petition is here.

The Petition also documents gross improprieties that occured during the approval process "wherein the primary arbiters of safety and effectiveness of LASIK devices were the device manufacturers and its collaborators".
