Dickey Scruggs has beat big tobbacco , this was huge victory for smoke related deaths and health issues for the entire United States . This money is in a fund for smoke related research and issues dealing with tobbacco . Dickey Scruggs was a heroe to most people in the USA . In light of this fact and especially being a firts time offender with no prior record it is only fair that Dickey Scruggs receive probation only in this matter . Why do drug dealers only get sentenced after so many arrests ? I don't think its fair to treat Dickey Scruggs worse then a drug dealer . So now is the time for America to stand up and voice their opinion on this important issue . Stand up strong and vote only probation for Dickey Scruggs , no jail time .

I think the court needs to consider all the good things that Mr. Scruggs has done over his career and not just look at this one incident. The media is quick to point out the negative accusations about Mr. Scruggs but fails to mention all of the great things he has done for his former clients, community, employees etc. He is a great man with a huge heart. I worked for him for several years and he was always very generous not only to his employees but to his community.

I shudder to think where Jackson County MS would be without Dickie Scruggs. By going after the insurance companies following Hurricane Katrina, he once more championed the little guys. He has shown over and over that he is a caring, compassionate person. It would be a sorry state of affairs to see him sentenced to jail like a drug dealer or other criminal. I respectfully ask the court to consider probation only - and no jail time.

I�ve been quite disheartened by the charges against my friend Dickey Scruggs and not here to allocate his innocence but to affirm the man I know for many years. I did not know Dickey through his legal profession but of course know of many of his professional accomplishments. Many I�m sure would vow to his integrity and persistence has had a great impact to a healthier world. I did not know him as a naval pilot dedicated to defending our country. I did not know him as a father, dedicated husband, or leader of a community but I was aware of all these accomplishments and respected them tremendously. I�ve known Dickey as a friend through sailing and watched him grow in the sport over many years into a successful sailor. I�ve experienced his leadership, sportsmanship, friendship, integrity, compassionate, and relaxed temperament. It was easy to see why he was so successful in all those other aspects of his life. Although I�ve not seen Dickey for some time, I can easily say knowing him has enhanced my life, as he was truly a role model I respected.

If it where not for Dickie thousands of people would be without a home, income, a job or hope. He stood up for the little man against the giants and therefore the big guys are after him. I believe that Dickie did nothing wrong and that the hole thing is a setup. It is my wish that the judge will take all the good things he has done into consideration and see this frame up for what it is.
