Denounce Michael Vick as Key-Holder to the City of Dallas

On February 6, 2011, Mayor Pro Tem, Dwaine Caraway, gave Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick a key to the city of Dallas. The action was done without Mayor Tom Leppert's knowledge or approval.

The action taken was not sanctioned by the Mayor's office and was not an official ceremonial honor on behalf of the City of Dallas. Official Keys to the City are presented by the Mayor, or an elected official designated by the Mayor, and reserved, on a limited basis, for an elected official of international status.
 We do not just want prevention of this happening again in the future--we want this particular incident to be rectified--reversed. We want a standard set NOW.
Even though Vick may be trying to put off the perception of finally setting off on the right path, with Michael Vick's bloody, cruel past and lack of true remorse or empathy for the pain, suffering and death that happened by his own hand or in his presence, with power to stop it, he is far from being any kind of true role model adults, much less than for children, or an advocate for animal rights.

The wounds are still too deep.
