Tax Credit for Stay at Home Mothers

Target:
Stay at home moms.
Sponsored by:

My wife is a stay at home mother and she works hard to take care of our two boys, our home, and me her husband.  I work a full time job as a service technician for a cell phone company.  It does not matter how rough of a day I have, my wife works much harder.  She never gets a paid vacation, never gets a day off, her job is a 24/7 position.  I appreciate her so much and believe she deserves something for raising our future generation.  ALL of our stay at home mothers deserve something for what they are doing.  They are raising the future leaders, doctors, etc.. Lets hear some noise for these women.  Please sign this petition!

We the undersigned believe that the hard work that goes into raising tomorrows generation should be commended by the current leaders of this proud nation.  We are asking for a tax credit that would be helpful in further providing for the children we are raising at home.

This tax credit could help maintain the substantial input that is necessary for the children we are raising as the leaders of tomorrow.  Of course not every family would be able to benefit from this tax credit as not all families are able to have one parent stay at home.  It would certainly be appreciated and helpful though to those of us that can.

According to an article on msn.com based on a survey done by salary.com, stay at home mothers in 2007 were worth $138,095 a year.   I think that for the effort that mothers are putting into raising their children and taking care of their family they should see some type of compensation.  If it were not for the mothers of yesterday, we would not have the great leaders of today.

I have been a single mother for about 5 years now, in sept 2008 i lost my job and have been attempting to find work with no luck. Knowing this.. even though i have no job, i still some how manage to make my mortgage payments and all my bills, clean the house, take care of my son on my own and I am a full time college student! What does the government give back to me for all my hard work?? I just found out that because i didn't work last year i owe $500 in taxes!!!! HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE??? I didn't qualify for a child tax credit because they said and i quote "I didn't work." As far as my work load is conscerned i ran circles around there little 9-5 job with weekends off. I just don't get paid for it. Either way... i am signing this petition because being a stay at home mom, no matter if your married, devorced, or single.. is a job that requires 10 arms alot of patience and a will to go on...If it were a real job no one would apply for it.. But we do it everyday. So i believe we deserve a little credit for doing what we do. thanks for letting this stay at home momma vent :D

The work that Stay at Home Mothers do benefits society in many ways, and yet we get no financial support for this and it puts more pressure on the single income for the entire family. A tax credit would mean our society actually makes the raising of children a priority, because, after-all, the way a society treats its children is a measure of how successful it will be.

I believe that mothers should be compensated for their hard work. I have yet to have children, but I am a stay at home wife who runs the household, taking care of my three dogs and one cat. It is a full time position! I also believe that mothers who are able to stay home have a healthier relationship with their children and husbands. I also believe the stay at home mothers are more capable of providing their children with better knowledge of how to be a contributing member of society.

I have had to do this until my wife quit her job and lets just say she works so hard that I can never keep up even on my busy days.
