Sen. Ted Stevens (R-Alaska)

Ted Stevens Must Resign!

Target:
Alaska Senator Ted Stevens
Alaska Senator Ted Stevens was convicted of all charges in his corruption case - but he is still keeping his seat in the Senate and remains on the ballot this November to serve for another term! Call on him to resign his seat immediately and withdraw his name from the ballot in November!

The corruption trial centered around whether Stevens hid tens of thousands of dollars in gifts and renovations at his Alaska home done free of charge to the Stevens family by an oil and energy services company. The jury found him guilty in all seven counts in the corruption trial.

Our lawmakers in Washington should not be corrupt - and after being found corrupt, they certainly should not be able to keep their Senate seats, nor keep their names on the ballot for re-election! Call on Senator Stevens to resign and remove his name from contention on November 4.

We the undersigned believe that your conviction in a court of law on seven counts of corruption means that you should no longer serve in the U.S. Senate. Please resign your seat today, and remove yourself from the ballot this November.

Corporate criminals should not be allowed to further their special-interest corruption in the government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

There is no place in the US Senate for a convicted criminal. Forget about Sen. Ted Steven's arrogance. Sure he'll try to appeal, but everyone knows that "ignorance" is not a defense for the crimes he committed. If he is the longest serving Republican Senator, he should have know the rules. The problem is he knew the ethics rules in the US Senate and he blatently ignored them!

Ted Stevens and Sarah Palin are on the same page and it saids. That one can lie to the People Of Alaska and still be in office. Even if Ted Stevens resigns and that is one thousand to one shot. You still have Sarah Palin to contend with and whose to say she shouldn't leave the office she is trying to get in to and the one she is holding now. Both Sarah Palin and Ted Stevens should "LEAVE" poltics forever and go to jail for the telling of lies that were told to the People of Alaska and the killing of the Wildlife in which both are guilty. I dare anyone to tell me different!!

When he doesn't get his way he threatens to quit at the drop of a hat. His platform as long as I've been alive has been "Alaska, you can't survive without me." Can he get a clearer message that we don't want him than being told that he is a liar and sent to jail? Staying in office just proves that he always knew it was he who couldn't survive without the position of priveledge which he abused for so many years.

Mr. Stevens needs to do the honorable thing now and step down.

If regular citizens are required to disclose whether or not they are felons when applying for jobs, Senator Stevens must relinquish his position as a public servant now that he's been convicted of felony corruption. This is absurd that we're even having to ask.
