California Governor Jerry Brown is suggesting that a Fish and Wildlife Department vehicle fleet of 527 vehicles be cut! His plan is that these vehicles be auctioned off to support the state's current revenue problems.
One of the important sectors of the Fish and Wildlife being hit will be the Oil Spill and Prevention team, which relies on its boats to police the oil shipping industry. Without an adequate number of boats, the state's oceans and marine life would be in great jeopardy.
Other vehicles slated for cut include those necessary for tracking and monitoring wildlife and detecting poachers.
Tell the governor that these are important and vital vehicles for the state's wildlife and their habitat. Without the vital services that these vehicles provide, we will risk great harm to our wildlife and their environment.
We the undersigned are writing to urgently request that you halt the state's current plan to cut the Fish and Wildlife Service fleet of 527 vehicles.
These are important and vital vehicles for the state's wildlife and their habitat. One of the important sectors of the Fish and Wildlife being hit will be the Oil Spill and Prevention team, and as you know, it relies on its boats to police the oil shipping industry. Without an adequate number of boats, the state's oceans and marine life will be in great jeopardy.
Other vehicles slated for cut include those necessary for tracking and monitoring wildlife and detecting poachers. These are not vehicles that our wildlife can stand to lose.
Please reconsider your plans to make such potentially damaging cuts. Without the vital services that these vehicles provide, we will risk great harm to our wildlife and their environment.
