Tell Homophobic Phoenix Restaurant Manager to Resign!

As a couple lovingly celebrated their anniversary at a Phoenix restaurant, their celebration came to an abrupt end as the manager suggested their small gestures of affection were offensive to other customers.

Kenyata White and Aemiee Diaz, a lesbian couple dining at the District American Kitchen and Wine Bar inside the Sheraton Phoenix Downtown, were repeatedly told, "There are thousands of rooms here, you need to get one."

The manager said that a group of men were made uncomfortable when they saw the couple kiss and asked White and Diaz to leave immediately.

Diaz, understandably, became frustrated and began to cry. The manager responded by saying they could receive free drinks if they came back the next day.

This is completely unacceptable.

The restaurant must ask the homophobic manager to resign and develop a written policy along with an educational workshop so that all employees are aware of the legal and ethical dilemmas that arise in these situations.

Tell homophobic Phoenix restaurant manager to resign!

We the undersigned would like to express our outrage concerning the actions of the District American Kitchen and Wine Bar manager.

His actions were completely unethical and unreasonable.

We demand that he issue an apology, resign and the restaurant develop a written policy so that this outrageous incident never hurts another couple again.

We thank you for taking our comments and concerns into serious consideration.
