We the undersigned are very upset about your fishing for dolphins. We find it cruel and wrong. Not to mention all unhealthy things found in them that can make people sick.
We do not believe profit is a good enough reason to be harming these animals. And we believe that you are making a very wrong choice.
Please read our comments and consider our views.
Thank you for reading this letter.

Dolphins and Whales are beautiful, intelligent animals and they should not be slaughtered for profit. I will never buy a made in Japan product,I will never eat Japanese food and I will never visit Japan as long as they continue this senseless slaughter. We as humans are supposed to be civilized but actions such as this makes me ashamed to be human that a group of people could be so barbaric as to cause pain and suffering to animals. I cannot respect the Japanese government for allowing such a horrific slaughter of these beautiful creatures, and I cannot respect the Japanese people for not demanding that the slaughter stops. I remember reading an article in National Geographic several years ago and the photographs of men slaughtering these animals and the water red with blood still haunts me today. STOP THE SLAUGHTER

I have the means to go to any country in the world whenever I would like. I specifically don't go to Japan because of this practice. And I speak about this to my friends.

I ask you to stop the dophin slaughter now. Dolphins are very sentient beings and needs to be treated with respect. To slaughter them is murder. There are other alternatives for food.

Dolphins are highly-intelligent warm-blooded mammals just like you and I. Dolphin and whale hunting are hurting Japan's public image and causing fewer people in the U.S.A. and Europe to buy Japanese cars and electronic products. Dolphin and whale hunting, even under the veil of "research," is hurting Japan economically and diplomatically. There is no honor in the killing of dolphins and whales, and there are plenty of real fish in the sea to eat to make this barbaric practice unnecessary. Please act responsibly and stop killing dolphins and whales. Sincerely, Jeff Martin

Dear Ambassador Ichiro Fujisaki, I have just become aware of the horrible acts of animal cruelty that are occurring in your country. I am speaking about the senseless murder of thousands of dolphins a year in Taiji, Japan. I have learned that there are two reasons the fishermen use in order to justify their brutality. The first is the local fishermen are told that the dolphins are responsible for the decline in the fish population and it is their responsibility to keep their numbers under control. This is incorrect and it has been proven that human beings are the reason for the decline, not the dolphins. The second is the fishermen get paid very well by companies who want to train dolphins to perform for audiences. Because of this, the fishermen will take thousands of dolphins out of the ocean in order to find a few that are marketable. Those dolphins who are not picked for the shows are brutality murdered and their meat is sold for food. It is a known fact that these animals do not contain any nutritional value because of the amount of mercury in their bodies. Regardless, their meat is still being harvested and sold. The horrible part is that the meat is not sold as dolphin meat, it is sold as a different type of fish or whale. The people who buy this meat do not know they are ingesting high levels of mercury. This is a serious public health issue and needs to be stopped. Not only are the one of the most intelligent animals on the planet being murdered, but by allowing this to continue the Japanese government is poisoning each person who eats this meat. I strongly urge the government of Japan to put a halt to this horrible behavior and pass legislation that would make it illegal. Thank you for reading this message. Sincerely, -Ross Errigo Salt Lake City, Utah

Not only are you harming harmless dolphins, but you are killing the seas most gentle organisms. You never hear of a dolphin killing anyone. You hear about them saving people. Even with us destroying their habitat they're still our freinds of the deep. You're also feeding high doses of mercury to children which can make them deathly ill. So not only are you killing for no reason, but you're also poisoning your own people. Not to mention the future of your society.
