We the undersigned Connecticut voters and other concerned citizens from across America, believe that you are acting aginst our interests by threatening to block a cloture vote to end debate on the senate health care bill.  If you personally cannot support the healthcare reform legislation, vote against the final bill.  By annoucing that you will vote against cloture to close debate you are single handedly standing in the way of change that we, your constituents desire.

We believe that a strong public option available to all citizens is the most effective way to force insurance companies to compete fairly and provide better value for the premiums we pay.

We want this legislation to have an up or down vote on the senate floor. We would like to remind you that you were elected by and represent the people of the state of Connecticut.  We stand resolved to hold you accountable in 2014 if you block a cloture vote to close debate on the bill.

Thank you  for taking the time to read our concerns,

Sincerely,

Dear Sen. Lieberman, As you well know, a solid majority of Americans favor a public option to the private health insurance industry and the bloated profits you so vigorously represent. Furthermore, a majority of your own constituents favor a public option. You also know that the health insurance industry has been the greatest impediment to bringing health care in America to the level of virtually every other industrialized nation. As such, it is time that you honor your commitment to the people of your state and to the nation, by shunning your devotion to big insurance. You were elected by the people. It is to those voters that you owe your allegiance. We all know how much financial support you have received from big insurance over the years. But is all that money really able to buy your conscience. That is why I am asking you to do the honest, patriotic thing, by abandoning your devotion to big insurance, and become the public servant you were elected to be.

Please leave the public option or companies will cut back on employees and more of us will be out of work and on the streets where ewe can get free health care like the mexicans

My health insurance premiums for a family plan cost about $8 an hour for a fourty hour week.. $8 an hour is half to a third of most peoples income they didin't increase my payment s they just decreased the coverage. ...why can't they make a more affordable policy with better coveragel and still make money considering the healthcare companies make so much extra money they make the oill companies look poor???

You are a disappointment to me, Senator Leiberman. Funny how money can alter a persons whole being and turn them around. Or does being in Congress do that ? Guess we are going to make sure that we insist upon term limits. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. I want a single payer public option ! Sincerely,

My mother and father lost their home after she suffered a cerebral bleed, needed brain surgery to stop the bleed to save her life, and then took 4 months to recover in the hospital. Insurance only covered the first $100,000 and then dropped her coverage. No insurance company would give her insurance coverage for 1 full year. During that full year she had thousands of dollars worth of medication. They NEVER recovered. They ended up moving into a low income housing unit.

YOU HAVE NO SOUL YOU CORPORATE LOBBYIST WHORE!!! AN ACTUAL PROSTITUTE HAS SO MUCH MORE INTEGRITY THEY YOU!!! My whole family will give A TON of money to your opponent if you filibuster this thing!! Why don't you do the job you were hired for and represent the American people instead of your corporate overlords???

Mr. Leiberman, Why are you not representing what the people in the state of Connecticut want? We overwhelmingly approve of a public option to the health care bill. Your position is in opposition to what your constituants want and will vote for in the future. I believe many in this state feel that the health care industry can not monitor itself and will not seek lower options unless the standard is set by the government. I really hope that you are not swayed by other interests in Washington and losing sight of what is important to Nugmeggers.

Mr Leiberman, Why would you not support this bill. I understand if it were because it put an unfair burden on the American people but having read it I cannot see where it does this. The only reason I can see that you would is because you made a statement as some point that as a moderate you wouldn't. Sir drawing lines in the sand is a bad thing for a parent a politician and a conscious adult. Sir please reconsider your position I have poor neighbors and man friends without employment tight now and if you were to look at them and see the unbearable situation they are in I cannot believe you or any one could tell them to their face they will just have to let their family be sick or die because of a vote by industry. I truly believe this os about your career and/or some business vote you are afraid of than the fact that the people need you. Please Sir prove me wrong. Do the right thing.

To add to this I would like you to know in the last 5 years our insurance premiums at work have increase 415% and this year they were to increase for my family coverage to over $1200 a month. With the 25 employees at our store our owner would have had to pay another 25K a year to keep us insured as the employees could not pay it. So we had to drop the plan entirely. Leaving them without an option at all in most cases. Myself I have type 1 diabetes and a very sick child out of the 25 employees only 5 are able to be insured right now. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE!! Please sir write me back if you need further details I would love to discuss this with you. V. Franklin 316-253-5744 Wichita Kansas

Dear Mr. Leiberman. I am very disappointed in your decision to support the Republicans in their non support of real health care reform with the public option. It is a shame to support the insurance companies and not the people of your state. People are dying everyday from not having the health care that they need and everyone in this country has the right to have the same socialized medicine that you enjoy. Sincerely, Janyce Hope

Senator Lieberman: I'd like to know why you're not actively supporting the "public option" on Health Care Reform. It seems a majority of Connecticut's residents favor it. Why are you representing the insurance companies and not the American people? It is a disgrace that millions of Americans have gone bankrupt because of high medical bills and that over 46,000 Americans die every year because they don't have medical health insurance. Please support the public option for the sake of your constituents and all Americans. If you continue of the path of Benedict Arnold, I will personally fly to Connecticut and volunteer my time and funds to see that you Never god willing get reelected.

My health care insurance costs have risen outpacing the enormous profits of the health care industry. It is profits first and human beings second!

We cannot afford healthcare, let's make it accessible to ALL Americans. We waste dollars with private insurers when they spend on things that have nothing to do with care: underwriting, sales & marketing, as well as, huge executive pay (1 billion dollar CEO's). They are making profits on American lives? It's true money can buy anthing. DON'T FORGET--Americans got fed up with Bush & his tactics, we put you in office--we speak, you better listen!!

You are not representing me and my family if you do not support the public option. I am disgusted by Congress's "one set of rules applies to us and a different set applies to the rest of the people". Either offer the public option or TAKE CONGRESS'S SPECIAL HEALTH INSURANCE DEALS AWAY FROM YOURSELVES! A question for you - how much are the insurance companies contributing to your campaigns? You seem to be representing them, not your constituents. The respect I used to have for you has quickly dwindled because of the actions and attitudes you have taken/assumed over the past few years. This is just another. My respect for Congress as a whole is also at an all-time low. I think you should all leave and we should start over again, maybe with fewer peacocks and roosters.

We had to change plans in order not to have our insurance policy go up more than 30% (or more)EACH YEAR over the past few years.

This is not an Independent, Democrat or Republican issue...it's an American issue that needs reform. You sir, need to do your job and support a Public Option that will help all Americans. Stop playing politics with people's lives! 70% of us Americans want/need the Public Option in order to get the quality healthcare that other countries, like Canada, France, and England just to mention a few, give its citizens. Don't let the USA become worse than a third world country in the way it treats it's citizens. Do the job you were paid to do!

My payment on the monthly of my really basic policy with huge copay and huge deductible is $643/month. If I am NOT mistaken, that is more than you pay per YEAR for your GOVERNMENT GRANTED health insurance!!

Vote for cloture at least. If you are so against the public insurance and the majority of American's who want it, then you can vote no for the bill itself.

35%

Senator, your darling Israel has single payer health care. If we can help fund their health care program with our massive foreign aid dollars we certainly deserve to have our tax dollars going for a system in this country which covers every one of our citizens from birth to death. If you think you can obstruct this progress that is so needed by the people and businesses of this country just to gain some time in the media spotlight, you can also lose your committee chair position. Is it worth it? I don't think so.
# 17:

Joe, you're getting the attention you wanted. I guess you don't care that it's all negative. 44,000 people die every year from lack of health care. If you follow through with your decision, from that day forward you own each and every death to follow. You, Joe, will be responsible. You will have actively spilled the blood of 44,000 Americans next year. You. It will be YOU. Your fault. Blood on YOUR hands. 44,000 American deaths at your hand. And I will do my best to collect those names and mail them to you. I'd do that for any Senator, but you'd be more responsible for the deaths because of your lies and betrayal. You'd deserve it more.

My premiums increased over 30% in one year alone.

# 16:
7:59 pm PDT, Oct 28, Judith Borman, Connecticut
It is not enough for you to merely refrain from blocking cloture. You must support the public option. Your position against those who are less fortunate than you and your wealthy friends is absolutely shameful. And you call yourself a religious man? What do you do to help people who need help?

I work for the State, my premiums went up less than $500. I have adult children whose jobs don't provide health insurance. But more importantly, I don't vote my own pocketbook, I vote for what is good for people in need, they don't have to be related to me.

Senator Lieberman -- You're one of the sorriest 'public servants' in the US Congress. I look forward to the day when your dishonest political career comes to a crashing halt -- which should be soon. I wish I'd stuck a fork in you when I met you in that small cafe in Hartford a few years ago. You're doing more to harm the Jews of this world than almost anyone else on earth. A pox on you, your house, and your family. Mark Kaplan New York, New York

My premiums have been going up year after year, for ten years.

You should be ashamed of yourself!!!. We need your YES vote for Health Care Reform with a strong public option (NO OPT OUT, NO TRIGGERS) You have been so devisive for the past 8-10 years. A real TRAITOR to the country and your party!!! If you can't do the will of the people who put you in office you should resign your seat. I also hope the Democrat's TAKE AWAY your committee chair! You are a Republican Sheep..... in Democrat clothing you not a Democrat. You seek to destroy our party. You should VOTE YES for health care reform bill with a strong public options or LOSE YOUR SEAT FOREVER....by the way you look old enough for Medicare, I pray you are not using "Government Funded Health Care!!!! SHAME, SHAME ON YOU FOR FAILING THE VERY PEOPLE WHO TRUSTED YOU. Do us all a favor vote YES on Health Care Reform or LEAVE Washington.

From $275.00 a month to $620.00. I lost my coverage because I could not pay for Health Care and Eat. One had to go, so I choose Eating (living). I pray every night that I or my Family won't get sick. I pay for Doctor Office Visits and perscriptions with cash out of pocket.

Washington's interests have been rolling over the common good for far too long! A strong public option is long overdue AND is what the majority of Americans want. If you should join with the "party of no", know that many will support another candidate to fill your senate seat.

Are insurance has gone up 35% this year.
