Tell Trader Joe's to Stop Selling Endangered Fish

Trader Joe's is one of the largest grocery retailers in America not to have a sustainable seafood policy, and they sell a great number of species of fish that are either endangered or cause significant damage to oceans when harvested.

Worse, Trader Joe's does not accurately label seafood products and in some stores they even display blatantly misleading signs indicating that their seafood is "sustainable" even when they sell endangered species.

Ocean conservation is important to all of us. Please take action today!

we, the undersigned,

are appalled to hear that Trader Joe's continues to sell red list seafood and has refused to protect the oceans by dragging their feet in implementing sustainable seafood practices. The message on your website says you intend to use Seafood Watch guidelines in your purchasing, but there are still items in your freezers that Seafood Watch asks consumers to "avoid." You go on to say that you "look forward to sharing your progress with your customers," yet we haven't heard a single word in months.

Trader Joe's isn't fooling anyone with their greenwashing. The public will continue to demand sustainable seafood until Trader Joe's makes that a reality.

Please do the right thing. And, please do it now.

Thank you for taking the Time to read this Letter.

Sincerly,

we, the undersigned
