After the horrible disaster, TVA proceeded to mislead the media and public, stating that the coal ash disaster chemicals were at safe levels. Duke University and United Mountain Defense discovered otherwise, that there were dangerously unsafe levels of toxins found.
Many residents of Harriman, Kingston, TN and surrounding areas have since became ill and have terrible health complications, the consequence of TVA's actions. The complications include arsenic poisoning, emphysema, and asthma, and nosebleeds, headache, and blurry vision for starters. There were 3 homes completely destroyed, and others damaged. A dog and other animals were killed. TVA needs to be honest with the public, take responsibility for their actions, and compensate. The victims of the disaster need to come before TVA's harmful greed. It is far too typical of industries to formulate lies about the results of their mistakes. Have a heart, TVA. You have enough money to help the victims. The victims need health care and other assistance, and you absolutely need to clean up your mistake as quickly as possible before further problems ensue. How is that my energy bill for the month of Dec to March was $300? Nobody ever came out to my house to check my meter. Nor any of the other surrounding houses. When I ask this question to NES, some customer service rep stated that the meter readers have binoculars. I guess she didn't get the point that NO NES vehicle every comes to my home nor the others surrounding me. But as for the question of having energy bills of $300/per month, I have told that TVA has made increases. So I want something in writing to show me the percentages of increase, as well as, a physical human being to come to my property and read the meter. I find it funny that I installated my house for this winter and kept my heat done from 85 to 75, and yet it has been $300 dec - march. An yet, NO HUMAN ever comes to my house nor other homes surrounding me to read the meters. Funny, my Aunt's home (next to me), their meter is in the back of their home. Which is totally surrounded by thick woods. Thus they would have to DRIVE up the drive. But that has not happened. So does the meter man for NES have X-way vision, and can see through a house to read a meter? But the customer service rep finds every excuse to blame TVA. Can anybody give me the right to have an investigation of NES and their meter reading, sky-rocketing bill increase and why other surround counties bills are nowhere near as high as NES customers. And yet they are ran by TVA. Interesting. My brother's bill (Lavergne Tenn with is next to Davidson county, ran my TVA as well as NES) $100- $175? Something stinks, and I want an investigation. Let me guess, to ask for this in writing..... I am asking for world peace. Right? So do I have a right to see this in writing? I know I am in the south, and I am "suppose" to say nothing, ask nothing. But screw that! I didn't grow up in the South. So inquires are on. I want answers. I am a disabled vet, single mom, and sick. But let see if I am even worthy of truth from my elected officials. Or maybe I should move to Sweden (thanks John Stewart!)
