ISI PAKISTANI SPONSORED TERRORIST KILLED PUBLIC IN MUMBAI - NARESH KADYAN

A University of Maryland study has claimed that India has experienced over 4,100 terror attacks since 1970. According to the university’s global terrorism database (GTD) that the national consortium for the study of terrorism and responses to terrorism (START) maintains, the number of fatalities number is in thousands. This information is freely available online.

The GTD statistical summary on terrorism in India is as follows: India has experienced 4,108 terrorist incidents between 1970 and 2004.

During this period, India ranked sixth among all countries in terms of terrorist incidents (behind Peru, Colombia, El Salvador, the UK, northern Ireland and Spain).

India had 12,539 terrorist-related fatalities between 1970 and 2004 - an average of almost 360 fatalities per year. These fatalities peaked in 1991 and 1992, when 1,184 and 1,132 individuals (respectively) were killed in such incidents.

Terrorists in India have employed a variety of attack types over time: 38.7 per cent of terrorist events were facility attacks, 29.7 per cent were bombings and 25.5 per cent were assassinations. The recent events in Mumbai would be classified as a series of coordinated facility attacks.

Detailed information on terrorist incidents in India between 1970 and 2004 can be accessed via GTD online interface that includes an advanced search function, allowing users to specify which type of incidents they want to explore.

START’s terrorist organisation profiles collection includes information on 56 groups known to have engaged in terrorism in India. Included among these groups is Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI). — ANI

Dear friends across India and the world,

We're all feeling the shock of the awful attacks in Mumbai. All our hearts go out to the victims and their families.

The attacks were aimed at our people, our prosperity and our peace. But their top target was something else: our unity. If these attacks cause us to turn on each other in hatred and conflict, the terrorists will have won. They know that hatred and chaos feed on division. They also know they are radical extremists, and their only hope of reaching society as a whole is by turning the rest of us against each other.

Let's deny them that victory. We're launching a message to extremists on all sides and all our political leaders, one that will soon be published in newspapers across India and Pakistan. The message is that these tactics aren't working, that we're more united than ever, united in our love and support to each other, and determined to work together to stop violent extremism. If millions of people sign it, our message will be unmistakable, click below to sign it and please forward this email widely:

As a Muslim, I am shocked at what has been done in the name of my faith. As an Indian, I am determined to keep these terrorists from tearing our nation apart. As a human being, I join with the entire world in condemning this horrific violence.

It's time to speak out, let's do it together.

The actions of terrorists whose sole intent is evil will never conquer the Free World. May God Bless all the innocent victims in India as we pray for their recovery. The Indian Government let their people and those visiting from other countries down. Central Intelligence knew of an impending attack and yet the Government of India did nothing in terms of protective measures for it's citizens. Lessons learned through bloodshed is a high price to pay; nonetheless, lessons will be learned.
