Many young does suffer from a lack of education and availability to contraception. The average gestation length for a white tail deer is just under 7 months. With access to newly alloted federal stimulus dollars, for a mere $5,000 per doe, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has readily available procedures to reduce unwanted deer pregnancy up to their sixth month. Prevent overcrowding and the tragic epidemic of buckless fawns by signing the Doe Choice Petition. It is imperative that does have safe legal and rare options available to them.
As President Obama so eloquently stated, just because two deer made a mistake, doesn't mean they should be punished with a fawn.
