In recently reported news, Oklahoma Representative Sally Kern spoke out against homosexuals, claiming that they are "worse than terrorists" and accusing homosexuals of engaging in indoctrinating behaviors that could destroy the nation. She is currently a representative in Oklahoma for the following services. This petition and the people of the United States of America are asking for the immediate resignation of Rep. Sally Kern. These statements that Rep. Kern have made induce hate and are against the ethics of the exact office that she currently holds. The people of the United States of America will no longer tolerate this form of discrimination from an elected public official who is expected to look out for the interests of all people in their district. Rep. Kerns comments about terrorists and implying minimization of Sept. 11th victims are also an unacceptable behavior and action that the public (we the people) expect out of a trusted public official.
Rep. Sally Kern; We the people demand your immediate resignation from office, as you do not represent all of the people in your district, as you have shown through your discriminatory comments.
Below are the important positions that you hold as a representative of the honorable state of Oklahoma. Your recent comments show clearly the lack of respect and ethical behavior you have towards the people of not only Oklahoma, but also to the people of the United States , as well. These recent statements of yours are not honorable as your current title would suggest.

Homosexuality may be personally offensive or distasteful, or it may not be understood, however, a representative of the people is obligated to represent ALL of the people fairly - regardless of their personal opinions. I am confident that like all natural phenomena that was previously ascribed to witchery, demonic activity, to satan, or God, that is now understood to be caused by natural processes, homosexuality will be found to be caused by genetics or some other natural event. Representative Kern has proven that she makes decisions based on myth or folklore, on "spirits" - in the same way as was done by the uneducated, before the age of enlightenment. We need forward thinking representatives who use science to make decisions not myth or emotion.

What she said is highly offensive, not just to people concerned about gay rights, but also for her comment about Islam in general being a threat to this country. It would be like Iran's president saying the number one threat to Iran is Christianity.

Sally Kern's comments are unneccesarry and unnacceptable for someone in her position. She should be held accountable for her speech just as any other public offical is. She has no business being in office, but rather behind a pulpit of a right winged evangelical church. Her comments are not only un-american, but unconstitutional in nature; her words threaten the living breathing words, of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Such ignorant and hate filled words are psychologically proven to incite violence, surely this will not sustain the gurantees made by the constitution. I am a registered voter, and will make my opinions heard in elections. People like this need to be held accountable. Please remove her from office ASAP. She not only threatens the lives of homosexual individuals but also that of Muslims. Also her actions in her private life, threaten the institution of family; by disowning her gay son, she has set a highly negative example for society. Just as other's have been held accountable for sex scandals, so should she for her denouncing of her own flesh and blood. Shame on her; and if she is not removed from office (or resigns), then I and surely others will lose respect for the office she holds. The title will lose its meaning and purpose through the loss of respect. Protect Americans as well as the title, dignity, and authority that her office carries. Remove Miss Kern at once, and denounce her.
