I am signing this petition because everyone has the right to be with the one they love and no one has the right to tell us otherwise. LOVE IS LOVE! This is supposed to be a free country and it is not right that we cannot marry who we wish.

If this country truly stands for equality, then we must stop creating second class citizenship. We must stop discriminating.

I have been with my partner for 23 years, alot longer than most married heterosexual couples, and yet I am not allowed to have the same privleges. I'm not forcing my lifestyle on anyone, I'm not changing. I love my neighbor. I wish they could love us back.

Why must two people who just happen to have matching genitals be denied the same civil rights as those who have unmatching ones? Fifty years ago the color of our skin had to match in order to be acceptable marriage partners, today it's hoo- hoo's. What's next? Upon going into a court house to apply for a marriage license will we have to step over to window 5 for a genital check? Sounds ridiculous because it is. This is America, the place to pursue your own happiness and not have anyone tell you what that should look like.

While Arizonans may not be ready for gay "marriage", passage of this measure will certainly be a step forward in our fight for equal (not special) rights. This will certainly be a challenge to those who claim not to be opposed to gay rights, just to gay marriage, like the Mormon church in their support of Prop 102 in California, to prove that they mean what they say.

Denying civil rights to one person or group endangers the rights of all. We must include gender orientation and medical condition to the usual list of race, creed, color, nationality, etc., and assure equal rights for everyone on the planet. I do not believe it is anyone's business, who a person wants to love. It affects not one person who gets married to who. Why should people, whom maybe you don't agree with their life choice, be punished for going with who their heart chooses. It is none of our business!! Do you ask people you meet, what their sexual preference is? Don't allow your ignorance be so brilliant that you allow citizens to go without free choice. This is not a religious matter. If it was, these citizens would have nothing but pain and horribleness in their life with out government intervention. Amen.

I am not gay, lesbian, or transgender, but I feel deeply for them all. It is unfair how they, as adults, cannot marry another consenting adult. I think that it is wrong to not allow them this simple, yet significant right. I am an American citizen who has fought for my country, served my country and this is one more thing I will do for my country. This is America, there is supposed to be a seperation of church and state. The only reason why they cannot marry is because of people's religious belief that it is wrong to be gay, lesbian or trans-gender. I say to them this is America, the land of the free. FREE! I support the gays, lesbians and trans-genders right to marry, I hope you all will too.

I am not full gay; I am bi. I am a woman married to a man, but I could have easily chosen to pledge my life to a woman just the same. It makes me angry that I would not have enjoyed the same freedoms I now have if the love of my life turned out to be a woman instead. I don't think it's fair. I can't believe this country still allows that kind of discrimination. It must be addressed; we must not continue to penalize people for not only being in love, but also expecting to be treated like human beings. That's what we are; human beings with feelings, just like the hetero's. Doesn't the Bible say to "love your brother as yourself..."? I'm pretty sure that means "all brothers" not just the "hetero brothers". Those that choose to be gay should be allowed the same securities provided by a civil union. It is the rightful extension of the love and fidelity they secure in their hearts.
