Do you know how much solid waste made of natural resources are thrown away per week? You and the New Yorkers throw away 64,000 tons of garbage each week. It takes 423,900 trees to make a 500 sheet of toilet paper, and 544,000 trees to make a 70 sheet roll of scott towel. If we keep this up this picture of this beautiful forest will be nothing but stumps. Yes i know a tree is a renewable resource but it takes around 100 years to grow back. If we recycle then we dont have to cut that much trees down. So this is why, I think in some states we should pass a law to reduce reuse and recycle. What do you think? this site will help you understand better: http://www.nrdc.org/land/forests/gtissue.asp

It is our moral responsibility to protect our forests and bio-diversity. First and foremost, we must reduce our consumption of paper consciously. If we have to use it, then recycling is the best option. The govt. should enforce this strictly.
