Author Marianne Williamson has said, "The new activist is one who wields power by standing for what could be, as opposed to fighting what is." Let us all think, speak, sit, stand and walk in peace. Let us *be* at peace.

Thank you for being this physical presence throughout our world, a very strong example of "Living the Dream--Co-creating the Beloved Community of Humankind" (That was the name of our effort in 2006, beginning with a nonviolence retreat followed by rally in Selma AL, a rally at the state capitol in Montgomery and then a walk to Ft. Benning in Columbus GA, joining in the efforts of the School of Americas Watch to close SOA/Western Hemispheric Institute for Security Cooperation and remember the many victims of graduates of SOA/WHINSEC. We had no idea that a dream walk of much greater magnitude was occurring at the same time. Then we were walking together physically. May we all continue the walk in our hearts in solidarity. For updates on SOAWatch efforts and to get information on current legislative efforts as well as on plans for what we hope will be a celebration in Nov. 09 of the closure of that school, visit www.soaw.org. Peace, to and through all, Judy

When world leaders, local leaders, and people in every community put peace ahead of their personal agendas, we will have achieved enlightenment. There are too many important world issues to solve to spend a moment fighting, harboring grudges, hating. Let's commit to learn and practice conflict resolution -- at home, at work, in our governments, between all peoples.

One thing I was told about the 'real world' is that, "No one cares." This sentiment couldn't be further from the truth of my own 'real world' experience. I have observed that most people care--they care deeply. This gift of meaning (of caring) imbues all of our lives, uniting us to eachother and this planet. For me this realization contains within it my own knowing that peace not only possible, but constantly present. Peace is always there, waiting to be lived into reality by normal people in the real world. Thank you to all who walk peace every day.

We are living a hopeful moment in the history of our country and the world. I learned to love America with Kennedy, during that period I learned to struggle for social justice, democracy, equality and to care about my fellow human. Since John, MLK, and Robert were assassinated, there have been few leaders in high places to teach these values to our children. Instead of social justice they have been taught Social Darwinism, instead of democracy, our country has become an oligarchy, instead of working toward equality, our leaders have promoted elitism and concern for our fellow humans has been replaced with the “me” society. Obama is the first President since Kennedy who has reignited the hope for “a more perfect society”. Obama has rekindled the “American dream” it is up to us to define that dream and begin to make it real.
