STUDENTS: IS SUSTAINABILITY IMPORTANT TO YOU?

Do you care about sustainability? Are you a UBC student? If you answered yes to both these questions, then show your support and prove to the skeptics in our leadership that we DO care about sustainability and UBC must reflect that ideal

UBC is currently overhauling its strategic plan. The old plan, Trek 2010, will be replaced by a new one, Place and Promise and will set the long-term vision, values and commitments of the university. One of the key elements of the new plan is the Sustainability Academic Strategy (SAS).

The SAS will provide a framework to guide the UBC community in its planning and decision-making process regarding sustainability. Prominent themes of the strategy envision the university as a living laboratory for sustainability and as an agent of change in the community. Click here for a synopsis of the SAS recommendations.

If we can gather enough signatures and momentum, we can prove to the decision makers that UBC students support institutionalizing sustainability. Help us reach our target of 1000 signatures by Saturday the 24th of October. Sign the petition below and spread the word!

We, the undersigned students of UBC, demand the strong adoption of all recommendations of the Sustainability Academic Strategy in their current form.
