Urge Lawmakers to Pass the Computer-Assisted Remote Hunting Act! (H.R.2711, S.2422)

  • by: Mary Lang
  • recipient: Congressmen Brad Sherman (CA), Tom Davis (VA), Patrick Murphy (PA), and Senators Bob Casey (PA) and Sheldon Whitehouse (RI)
During a "canned hunt," a "hunter" goes to a specific website, and clicks his mouse, firing a remote mounted weapon which then kills the helpless animal, which is within an enclosure at a ranch. If the animal doesn't die, personnel at the ranch will  shoot at it, and then trophy mounts will be prepared from the animal and mailed to the "hunter."

Currently, 38 states have banned this practice. Congress is working on H.R. 2711/ S. 2422, Computer-Assisted Remote Hunting Act. This petition is to urge congressmen and senators to co-sponsor this bill.
We, the undersigned, are urging you to co-sponsor House Bill 2711 and Senate Bill 2422, to ban "canned hunting," a practice even many hunters agree is unfair and inhumane.
