PLEASE SUPPORT THIS EFFORT-THERE IS A LOT OF SUPPORT ON THE SIDE OF THE OPPOSITION!

Petition: Please oppose AB329 and SJR5. AB329 is a bill that has passed the Nevada House and is currently in committee at the Nevada Senate. THE HEARING MAYBE AS EARLIER AS MAY 20TH! Supporters  gathered at the State Building in Carson City, NV on Friday May 13, at the first reading of the bill  that was scheduled. A video teleconference was also set up in Las Vegas in Rm 4412E at the Grant Sawyer State Building where people could watch & testify. PLEASE SUPPORT THIS EFFORT-THERE IS A LOT OF SUPPORT ON THE SIDE OF THE OPPOSITION! This bill seeks to re-define the meaning of wildlife to no longer include wild horses and burros and will not mandate that water be provided to them.

SJR5 opposes the creation of wild horse sanctuaries and the expansion of wild horse habitat and populations in Nevada, both of which are alternatives to roundups and are currently under consideration by the BLM. SJR5 bill has passed the Senate Natural Resources Committee and must now pass the Senate before becoming official.

These bills are subsidized and supported by and for the special interest groups of the livestock industry. Currently, wild horses are tormented during roundups via helicopter , killed and sterilized- ALL supported by (to) the same special interest groups. If AB329 passes it will be legal for the state TO WITHHOLD WATER FROM WILD HORSES & BURROS!!!! Now is the time to tell these groups, along with (the state of) Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval, the Members of the Nevada Senate and the Natural Resources Committee that we will not tolerate the harassment, abuse and starvation of wild horses and burros on PUBLIC LAND!   Its time to end the rape of our public land all for and by the special interests of a few ranchers.

We pledge to boycott the state of Nevada should these despicable bills pass! We will no longer spend our dollars in the state for any means or purposes including the viewing of the Nevada's treasured wild horses and burros.

We further pledge to boycott the state of Nevada should the unfair and biased bills pass! We will no longer spend our dollars in the state for any means or purposes if either of these bills pass. We urge you and the state of Nevada to protect these national treasures as symbols of freedom and the Wild West and reject legislation that will harm them.
