Verizon has refused to carry the G-Phone or any phone that uses the Google Android Open Source Operating System. While Verizon might have the best coverage of all the phones it is very obvious that they lack in their hardware and software platforms. It is the goal of this petition to let Verizon know how many people would be interested in having a phone that is capable of handling the Android operating system.
Carrying phones that handle the Android operating system would be a great improvement over the current sub par platforms that Verizon carries. It would also support the free exchange of ideas between developers and the the tech community thus resulting in a much better product in the future.
Sign this petition to let Verizon know how many people are concerned with the the poor quality of their operating systems and their inability to allow any of their phones carry Android.

We the concerned cell phone users wish to see the Google Android Operating System as an option in Verizons large line of phones. Please listen to the voice of many individuals who want to see Verizon open their doors to the open source community by supporting the platform of Google Android. Thank you very much for taking the time out to read this petition.
We signed the "Verizon to Carry G-phone" petition!

Yes, Verizon does have the best service but worst selection of phones. I too am thinking of switching carriers just for the phone.

I respectfully request that Verizon carry an Android-based phone. I have been a verizon customer for several years, and I am seriously considering switching because overall, the variety and functionality of handsets on Verizon's network is the lowest of any cell provider. Although the network is good, that shouldn't mean that you provide only poor handsets to customers. PLEASE UPGRADE YOUR HANDSETS!

I wish I could get the G-phone on Verizon. My girlfriend's Dad is an engineer for them, so I can't switch services otherwise I would, but this really sucks that I can't get one of the better phones on the market for the best provider in the country... Lame

for the reason that all other carriers are providing phones that have more open capabilities, among other things, the phones that verizon offers are not even close to par with what other carriers are providing, although the service is great, the phones are lacking in almost every department.
there is no reason to stay with verizon unless the phones take a turn for the better.

I have the LG Dare and I love the phone. But from what I see, It can be ALOT better. an Android phone will answer the prayers of millions. Android can be the iPhone killer, If you provide the G. I am against Apple and would love to own the G1 if it was made available.

As a nurse practitioner I need a phone with instant internet access...The I phone is great and use frienly. The new palm Tre sounds wonderful. I have had cell phones with you since the early 90s, you have great coverage but the phones are NOT worthy of todays technology.....Please don't force me to another provider.

Do you have any idea how many people leave your network PER DAY because you can't supply the phones everyone wants. Your network is superior, everyone knows that, but your phones are the WORST. I'm almost at my breaking point. This has gone on for years now and I am getting tired of it. I want to be a Google Android developer, but how can I be when you people can't carry a single Google phone. Oh and how about that iPhone and all the great apps I could be enjoying right now if only I switched to AT&T. I hate AT&T, but its as if you guys are FORCING me to switch. STOP FORCING ME TO SWITCH! Get some good phones for once! You have two choices right now iPhone or Google phone. For the love of God, just pick one of them (or both) and offer it to us.
This is how the world views Verizon.
"Great network, crappy phones."
I think those of us who have been loyal to Verizon from the beginning have suffered long enough. I can't even believe that I even have to send an email like this out. This should be common sense! Its just a matter of time before AT&T catches up to you on the network front, and when that happens, Verizon is SCREWED! I can only hold out for so much longer before you practically force me to switch.

Carry Android phones already or you're going to lose customers. Get your act together Verizon and start offering desirable phones instead of the typical Samsung and LG crap that you keep carrying (and no one cares about).

Verizon your phone selection sucks, but you have the best service in the US. To me Android outweighs the quality of the service just get Android and so many customers will be happier.

Android is a Solid OS, and it has features and isn't locked down. Verizon, I know making money is a big deal (ha) but allowing an open OS won't blow up your profit margins, no it might just make them grow!

I want a phone that is just as usable with a WiFi connection as with my wireless carrier.
I just want my Wifi-email. I already pay for it, why can't I get it on my phone just like my PC?

No IPhone and you won't carry the next best thing. You phone selection is almost brutal.
Think of the revenue you are missing by excluding this platform.

I am currently in high school. I graduate in a little while, and although I think Verizon is decent (in every place that is NOT my home), I cannot stand the fact that they have horrible phones. They last phone I received from them as part of a two year contract broke after a year and a half of light use, and zero abuse. I then started to use my grandma's old phone that she received four and half years ago and realized that it had the exact same function and OS as mine, minus a dinky camera and bluetooth. Seeing this I decided to keep the old phone and not upgrade, in hope that Verizon will stop being stupid, and get some decent phones. Please Verizon, get some Android phones on your network! The BB Storm is not for everyone, WiMo is junk, the only good Palm phone is going to Sprint, you rejected the iPhone, and LiMo is still too unknown as of now. Android would be a definite hit. Be nice to Google, and through that, the consumers.

I don't want to leave Verizon (the only carrier I've ever had...going on 6 years), but their Blackberry offerings just aren't going to cut it! I don't want to go to T Mobile for the Gphone, but I will if I have to.

My family and I have been loyal customers to Verizon over the years; we've really appreciated your network but have been less than impressed with the neutered/inferior hardware Verizon perennially offers to its subscribers. Please acquiesce and make your customers happy by working with google to bring Android HTC phones to your network. It's not just 'the network'-it's also the hardware and how it improves the lives of the people using it.
Best,
Dave Kochman

I am a long term Verizon subscriber (7 years) that will be leaving for Sprint, and taking my entire family plan of 5 phones with me if there is not an android handset available soon after Sprint releases one. I'm also very disappointed that Verizon continues to disable the use of GPS from 3rd party applications. Sprint doesn't do that. Prepare to loose a lot of customers from word of mouth and tech site news if this behavior continues.

Verizons handset selection is poor. They are in need of a device that is openended how android is.

I think the Version should definitely add android phones to their arsenal. I know that i'd buy one immediately. I also know that by adding those they'll gain a massive amount of customers, and that will probably sell a lot of android phones. Better then the blackberry.

i really want an Android phone on Verizon it is the only thing left that could keep me with them. I dont understand what is taking Verizon so long but the need for an Android handset should have been addressed last month but I guess if Verizon want to start loosing customers their way will surely get them there.

It's hard to add an argument with what has been said. iPhone, smart phone, Verizon always being months, now years behind in phones coming to their network. Don't just get 1 Android phone, get several, give us some options. We Verizon customers are stuck with "old" phones.

Please carry the Android. We, Verizon subscribers, need a product to compete with the Iphone. Google is great!
