The village of Amsterdam, located in Jefferson County, OH is contemplating a ban on pit bulls. There was an incident involving a neighbor (teenage girl) playing with a dog that turned on her. WTOV news reported today the decision had been made for the dog to be put down, presumably after quarantine.
The Village administrators will be meeting Monday, June 13th @ 7 pm where they will be discussing the possibility of enacting legislation, in and above what the State already has.
The goal is to present this petition and all signatures with comments to the Village Administrators at the meeting.
