Virgin Blue - Make An Ethical Supplier Change!

After flying on Virgin Blue recently I realised Nestle is the supplier of Virgin Blue's coffee on flights. Given Nestle's unethical history of promotion of formula in third world countries, offering bonuses and samples out where it's not permitted in the developed world. While this is more a vote of support of this notion than a petition, we the undersigned would love to see Virgin Blue make a responsible and ethical business decision to find a new supplier of coffee and other foods currently supplied from Nestle. Virgin Blue, please support companies who practice ethically and responsibly!
We, the undersigned, are urging Virgin Blue to reconsider using Nestle as a food and beverage supplier due to Nestle's history of unethical business practices, particularly in third world countries where newborn babies are suffering most of all. We'd love to see Virgin Blue switch to a more ethical supplier of food and beverage products.
For your reference, below are a collection of information resources and Nestle boycott website, which includes a recent short UNICEF documentary from the Philippines outlining what was and is going on in third world countries. It's no exaggeration that babies are dying as a result of illegal and unethical formula promotion in countries where water is contaminated and formula cannot be made in sterile environments. These babies need breastmilk so they can receive antibodies and a complete food to fight malnutrition and the gastrointestinal diseases they contract, which sadly kills many.

Doctors, midwives and health nurses are given bonuses for sending post-natal women home with formula samples and packages. The woman goes home thinking she has a superior product to breastmilk and starts on formula. In the meanwhile, her breastmilk dries up and as does her money, as formula costs her a fortune - most of the family's income. She can no longer breastfeed as she has no milk and may also resort to buying the cheaper and even less nutritional brands of formula, as she cannot afford the one she was recommended. Her baby gets sick as she has only dirty water to clean bottles and mix the formula. All on the false premise this formula will make her baby smarter, more intelligent and like their western cousins (see the documentary).

The evidence below we hope will encourage you as fantastic and successful company to make some fantastic and successful decisions. We look forward to hearing from you and encourage you to think seriously about supporting a company who practices ethically and should be rewarded with your business for doing so.

Thank-you for your time taken to read this letter and we will be happy to provide more information if needed. This is not so much a petition but a vote of support for Virgin Blue in making this ethical move - and a business one too, as we'd all buy your coffee on flights if it was supplied by an ethical company!
