Most destructively and unbelievably, the ASPCA written legislation which allows of immediate euthanasia based on "psychological pain", eliminating the legally mandated holding period for stray animals, giving owners no chance to find their lost animal.

This will lead to the unnecessary deaths of many feral cats entering shelters.

The bill also fails to clarify the right of any animal welfare organization to practice Trap-Neuter-Return, the most humane and effective way of managing feral cat populations.

The NYS Assembly Committee on Agriculture reported this bill to the NYS Codes Committee. Please encourage CommitteChair Joseph Lentol and all the members of the Codes Committee in the Assembly to vote NO to Bill A05449A.
