THE "VOTE OTHER" PLEDGE

We, the undersigned citizens of and registered voters in the United States of America, no longer accept the false choices that you present to us in each election cycle. 

• Neither of your parties have proved yourselves capable of solving the enormous problems and challenges facing our country and our world today and in the days to come. 
  
• Instead, you manipulate us with misleading campaign ads, funded by special interests.  You divide us and make us scared and suspicious of one another, risking the very social fabric of the nation in attempts to maintain your power.
  
• You squelch dissent from within your key constituencies, assuming that "we have no other place to go."  Indeed, you do everything in your power to make sure we have nowhere else to go, by designing ballot access requirements in many states that make third-party or independent candidacies nearly impossible to conduct.
• You limit access to debates and other public forums, arbitrarily limiting the range of viewpoints being heard by the American people.

For these reasons and many more, we hereby take the "VOTE OTHER" Pledge:

We declare that we will, wherever possible, support third-party and independent candidates with our money, our efforts, and our votes.  If there are no third-party or independent candidates on our ballots, we will write in the names of other eligible and deserving citizens.  We will no longer continue to support "politics as usual."

Here is how you will know we are serious: you will, eventually, see an election tally where your parties combined earn less than 50% of the vote.  When you see that result  (even if you hide it from public view), you will know that you can no longer claim to have "the consent of the governed."
