Dye Test indicating the water from Walmart is indeed coming into our irrigation pond!

Wal-Mart live up to its commitment of corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainabili

Target:
Corporate Headquarters of Walmart
Sponsored by:
Roemer Nursery had been a successful family-owned business on Green Road in Madison Township for 5 decades.  In 2006, a Wal-Mart Supercenter was opened nearby.  Before and during construction, Roemer Nursery and other nearby growers expressed concerns about how the developmenet would impact the local environment, particularly the local water supplies due to the run offf of water from the building's roof and parking lot.  Within 4 months of the store opening Roemer began seeing significant increase of Sodium and Chlorides in its Main Irrigation Pond.  In 2007 Roemer began experiencing significant plant losses.  The owners and management of Roemer have made repeated attempts to seek cooperation from Wal-Mart to find a solution to this environmental problem.  Wal- Mart's refusal to address the critical issue of water contamination has left us no option but to pursue a legal path.  We are not only concerned about the impact on our business.  We are equally concerned about the environmental impact in our community, ground water, plant life and aquatic life as the contaminatied water eventually makes its way into Lake Erie.  Go to www.roemernursery.com for more information.

We, the undersigned, demand that the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Madison, Ohio, live up to its commitment of corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability by:

1.) immediately ending its practices that pollute the local water and          wetlands,
2.) take responsibility for the damage that has been done to the environment and
3.) provide relief to Roemer Nursery for the damage already caused to its business and ensuring its access to a clean, economical source of water in the future.

Walmart, How can you turn your head? Your corporation disgusts me. You care about nothing else but putting money into your already deep pockets! Wake up and realize what you are destroying. I hope that people will do their best to shop at other places besides Walmart until they clean up their act.
