Wall Of Compassion

Target:
5000
The Charter For Compassion (http://www.charterforcompassion.org/) is a world wide initiative about bringing together various faith groups to work on projects to promote compassion in communities throughout the world.  The Charter will proclaim a principle embraced by every faith, and by every moral code.  This is often referred to as The Golden Rule -
"Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You"
This Wall of Compassion is just 1 initiative of many world wide.
If you agree with this statement and pledge to integrate it into your life,  sign the petition!  We want all faith groups (and non faith groups) to embody this message.
For those in the Toronto, Canada area, we will have an actual wall signing (God willing) on November 12, 2009.  See http://charterforcompassion.org/act/events/a7d950d1-679b-f664-5196-44f3a33351ba for details!

NO to hate and terrorism; YES to compassion, respect and peace. Even if we don't agree on things, we only have one world to live in, so let's treat each other with the respect and compassion we all want for ourselves.

At last, we see the beautiful underlying gift in these different journeys to the Divine, the final test of any religious interpretation. Is it compassionate? If not, it is not the truth.

As a Christian I believe that the compassion and respect that Christ showed to even the perceived lowest of his society is so sadly lacking in this world. Too much greed and too little involvement has created a shameful state of life for so many. We are all relevant, and we can disagree with respect. There is no shame, no sacrilege, in being a kind and generous individual. It is in no way a betrayal of any true faith to love our neighbor as we wish to be loved.

It's time for a better world by embracing the fact of our shared humanity, which includes our shared ignorance.

~ Compassion is not religious business, it is human business, it is not luxury, it is essential for our own peace and mental stability, it is essential for human survival. ~ Dalai Lama
