Wasteful Packaging at Chick Fil A

Target:
Chick Fil A
Today, June 9, 2008 I ordered a Wrap at Chick Fil A only to recieve a large clamshell plastic container with the wrap within.  This container is not recycleable and will create large amounts of waste, far more than when they offered the sandwich in a paper wrapper.  Please tell Chick Fil A not to use wasteful packaging!

Go Green Chick-Fil-A! I love your food and drinks, but the packaging could be so much better for your customers and the environment!

I agree. And something needs to be done about those styrofoam cups that leech carcinogens and are not biodegradable.

Polystyrene? Why not paper? Or don't you care about the planet...? Or your children's children?? Or your Mother?? Mother Earth, that is. Yeah, your new tagline should be "Eat More Chicken, Kill More Planet."

Please make changes to help be a greener company. Plastic containers are not necessary. Styrofoam cups are not biodegradable, and the process of making them releases horrible pollutants.

I love Chic-Fil-A because of it's tasty deliscious food, its educationa prizes for kids, the fact that it serves chicken instead of beef (which takes less feed to produce meat), because they are closed on Sunday to gaurantee workers one day a week off, and because they show an active interest in the community by helping out sports teams and other community groups and activities. Chic-Fil-A if you really want an edge, you should lead they fast food industry in environmentally friendly practices.

I agree- I'd also like to see them switch from styrofoam cups. Very wasteful and not enviro-friendly.

This restaurant is just one of many offenders. I hope it will listen and send a message by doing the right thing.

Don't they realise they are wasting money besides resources? I rarely consume flesh anymore, but if and when I do, I like to know there is minimum damage to the environment, i.e. NO styrofoam! We should all just go veg!

In Korea and Japan the fast food restaurants can't use styrofoam and must recycle cups, cooking oil, etc. It is time the US got better about recycling and stopping the waste.
