Please don't build yet another animal exploitation center which will pollute the water, land and air and where thousands of sentient fellow beings will be killed.

I am a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe and know all too well what a hog farm can do. Why is it whenever some corporation wants to set up shop and no other state or city wants to deal with it, they start looking a tribal/trust lands.

Here we are in the year 2008 and things havent changed someone is still trying to hurt the native indian people. how sad it is that some people just do not care about others all they care about is money.

Haven't we done enough to damage to Native Americans as it is. Please let these people have some clean air, and some peace.

It is a proven fact that fecal matter in the air from hog farms is very harmful. This information should be researched in depth. Also, the deep ground water would be jeapordized. This is ancient Native land and should be left intact, to say the very least.

Haven't we damaged the native peoples enough? It is a known fact that pig farms can cause illness in the proximity around them. The chemicals used in pig farming are known contaminants, and there are even illnesses which the workers must put up with. Surely there is a better location for this farm than adjunct to native land.

I know from personal experience what a pig farm can do to the local environment. The pollution on the ground,in the water as well as in the air will make the surrounding area virtually uninhabitable. Putting this farm so close to a group of children let alone an adult population,is totally unacceptable.

I totally support the Ihanktunwan DaNakota People in opposing this hog farm project. First and foremost, the Yankton Dakota are a sovereign People, and if they oppose this, their decisions must be respected -- period. But if this respect is not compelling enough, certainly the environmental degradation -- the depletion of the aquafer and the toxic run-off from concentrated waste -- should be sufficient to argue against this plan in the interests of all of us in the region. It is a violation of the People and the land to push this plan any further.

There are many things on this reservation that need to be taken care of. It's time our people took care of things that affect us as a whole and not as individual(s).

It is time for all Nations to practice sustainable life habits. Animal confinement lots may turn a short term profit, but are not sustainable and have proven massive long term costs. WE MUST THINK OF THE NEXT GENERATIONS!
