With the deficit and the attempt to create a better and fair health reform, cutbacks have been made. There are many medicaid recipients some of which are in need of the help and others taking advantage of the system causing unnecessary spending, raising taxes and at the same time making it harder for the people who are justifiably in need of the help. The process in which someone applys for aid from the department of social services takes time and specifies certain requirements in order to be accepted and receive financial and/or medicaid. The programs were made to offer people temporary help with an opportunity to get in a position where the help is no longer needed. The process in which a person applies for anything in order to receive financies and/or medical benefits, whether it be at the Department of Social Services or a place of employment, are similar but are not equally fair in the fact that more employers are requiring drug tests as part of the application and once hired, having random drug test every so often. I am suggesting an idea that is not my own but brought to my attention and makes so much sense. People who apply for financial and/or medicaid from social services go through the same procedure of being drug tested as well as people applying for employment and health benefits from any employer. Too many people have become dependent on the system wasting money on people who have no intentions of bettering their situation with the temporary help but to live off of it. Thats alot of money that can be used productively and saved to help prevent cutbacks and higher taxes.
