This is a plea for peace not just for our nation but for each individual. We need to stop the violence against each other. We need to love and care for one another. We need to stop separating our children from their loved ones. We need to stop using our fists and start using our voices raised in love, not hate. We need to find a way to get along because life is short. We need to support each other as human beings who all fall short of the glory of God. WE NEED God!! Make a suggestion... write a letter, forgive someone, pay it forward, do a random act of kindness, start fresh, help heal our world and all who live in it.

I agree completely with this!
Most "religions" believe in a "God" of one type or another. In Christianity, there are many denominations to divide the whole. If we could all put aside our petty differences and focus on the one thing that we all do believe in (God), then I believe that we all could attain the peace that everyone so longs for.
People fight over "interpretations" of the bible etc., but why can't we, as Christians just agree that we love God and go from there. Same with other religions. Islam, Buddists, etc. There is a common thread of love in most all religions, and usually the love either symbolizes or represents God.
Maybe it sounds too simple...but maybe it IS that simple...and that is what makes it so hard. Without God, the world would, in essence, would be without love, and that, to me, would be a dark, sad and hopeless place.

The whole world would be a better place, if they would put their trust in God.It does not matter who is President, if he does not believe in God, then we are in trouble. the world needs God's healing hands.

We do. And we are God's creations.
I really don't mean to preach, and forgive me if that's how it seems to be.
But if you want unity, please take a look at Islam.
Don't let some people's misconception and misunderstanding of Islam affect you.
May God Bless and Give you hope. Amin.
Salam

I support this petition fully. I have a longing for peace. Not only do I long for it within myself, but I long for it for all of Creation. We can truly only attain this by way of GOD, our Creator. There is no other way in which this can be attained. Sure, man can strive and strive to attain peace and maybe, just maybe, man can promote some kind of partial peace. But, I tell you, true and harmonious peace that encompasses all creation only comes from GOD! We should, therefore, allow God into our lives. Let the light in, so that the darkness can be pushed out.
PEACE and harmony to all.

It's not a matter of religion or nation. It's a matter of ego. If we release ego, we will be free.. But let's not argue. Let's see what brings us together, the desire for peace and kindness.. Set your self free by starting to love!

I don't think religion is necessarily the source of war, hatred, and violence, rather it is the misinterpretation of it along with man's fear of the different. What we really need, is tolerance. Religion is good. They are intended to be good. Instead of attacking people and forcing them to defend their beliefs, why don't we become firmer in our own beliefs?
