We only buy fair trade chocolate!

The majority of chocolate sold in the United States is grown by people working in unsafe conditions, below the poverty wage, and often under the age of 14 (according to http://www.treehugger.com/files/2007/02/the_bitter_trut.php).  According to the United Nation’s Children’s Fund, 200,000 children in West Africa work under forced labor conditions on cocoa farms (http://www.coopamerica.org/programs/fairtrade/trickortreat.cfm). Show the two largest chocolate providers in the U.S., Nestle and Hershey, how many people care about this and only buying chocolate certified as fair trade.
The majority of chocolate sold in the United States is grown by people working in unsafe conditions, below the poverty wage, and often under the age of 14 (a). "According to the United Nation%u2019s Children%u2019s Fund, 200,000 children in West Africa work under forced labor conditions on cocoa farms." (b). We, the undersigned, are very disturbed by the often inhumane history that is, unfortunately, behind most chocolate sold in the U.S., and are declaring that we only buy chocolate that is certified as being fairly traded. So far, this does not include chocolates made by your companies. Hopefully this will not always be the case.
