Whale & Dolphin Slaughter in the Faroe Islands!

Target:
Stop this slaughter!
Sponsored by:
End Whale & Dolphin Slaughter in the Faroe Islands! The Faroese celebrate the massacre of their victims in a carnival ambience of amusement. According to Faroese legislation it is also legal to kill certain species of small cetaceans other than whales.
These include: Bottlenose dolphin; Atlantic white-beaked dolphin; Atlantic white-sided dolphin; and Harbour porpoise (There are also precise regulations for the hunting of harbour porpoise.
They really must stop this even if it is a ritual.

A nation of serial killers, they bring their children to watch. The unbelievable horror perpetrated on these gentle giants leads me to feel that the life of one whale is worth more than the lives of 20 Danes. Shame on Denmark.

I can't believe that there a people on this earth that are still so barbaric! I could understand people hunting or fishing to eat, but this looks like they enjoy mutilating another living being! absolutely wrong!

Would be nice if I could have your opinion.

Killing the whales and dolphins is bad for them. Eating the meat is bad for the people. Some rituals become obsolete.

I am horrified to learn of the needless and heartless slaughter of throngs of whales and other sea mammals in the Faroe Islands. Not only does this waste life, but brutalizes both the humans that take part and those who witness it without protest, indeed encouraging it. Please take immediate steps to cease this terrible bloodbath.

There is absolutely no sane reason to slaughter dolphins like the Danes pictured in the photos. .... Unconscionable, cruel, and senseless. Stop this, it must be stopped.

Seeing dolphins slaughtered mercilessly is a crime. These are gentle, intelligent, highly evolved creatures who love human beings. It infuriates me that the most I can do to stop this is to write a letter or sign a petition....Stop it! Stop it NOW

There may have been a time--hunting wooly mammoths for example-- when it was necessary for men to hunt in packs, but it is no longer necessary. And, evidentll,y this food source is not even a healthy one. We must also continue fighting for humane conditions in the slaughterhouses here in the U.S.

Our future is directly tied with the health of our oceans, which we are destroying with overfishing and this kind of cruel and unnecessary slaughter.

I am disgusted that this is going on in a supposedly civilzed country. There is no need for this slaughter. These animals are highly intelligent and social. Please take steps to end this now!

It amazes me to this day how idiots follow idiocity, traditional idiocity. This is used as an excuse only to murder without care. The Nazi's used the same philosophy on the Jews.

The IQ level of politicians and civilians on the Faroe Islands alike can't be very high or respected. Dumb people do dumb things. It's time nature turns Killer Whales on to the population same as what their population does upon other species. This is horrific!

It makes me sick that supposedly civilized nations can occur this kind of cruelty on highly intelligent mammals, and for what?? tradition!! These people should be barred from the world, no exports, no nothing!

Thank you for making this aware to as many people as you can! Nothing has distracted my thinking like this for a long time - those images refuse to go away - why would anyone want to hurt such friendly, trusting, peacful and gentle creatures - it is pure evil! I wish I could do more, as well as signing this petition - and would really love more information on how you are helping!

Man's inhumanity to Man and Animals is alarming. What can be done to God's creatures can also translate to Humans. Senseless slaughter is just that...senseless. What is once done without conscience can happen again to any animal or any person. This cannot be taken lightly.

I could only watch a few minutes. It mad me so mad that people are so ignorant. Its just like what they do in Japan. Don't they care, have a heart. For me we should do this to them and their kids. I am a stong beliver of animals are more powerful and smarter then we are. We need to stop this butchering now before its too late and there is noting left for us to appreciate it.

It's the ruthless, brutal killing of a beautiful species. It's a dark, filthy stain in the history of this world.

This is all new to me.I was not aware that this was taking place in Denmark.I think of Denmark as a humane sociaty so I hope they will see that it's wrong to kill the dolphins. I always felt that the dolphins are friends to humans , they would protect a man from danger,so I feel this ritual of massacare on the dolphins should be stopped.

These killings are disgusting, brutish, severe, inhumane, and barbaric. i can not believe that any human would do such a thing to such beautiful animals. they mean no harm to people. they are as intelligent as any human. possibly more intelligent. killing just a couple would be horror enough. but killing thousands? they are only concerned with lining their wallets is what it looks like to me. this is absolutely outrageous. terrible. horrible. ghastly. the turmoil in my heart can not be put into words. this is the most senseless and careless brutality that i have ever had the shock and horror to see. i hope that we can do something about this and make it stop. permanently. for ever. these dolphins have done absolutely nothing to deserve this cruel hellish fate. they deserve better.

this massacre is sickening. brutal. horrendous. terrible. senseless. unneccesary. and above all inhumane. i hav such a raging turmoil inside that i can not put it into words. it needs to END. for ever.

This just has to stop.

Such barbaric acts carried out in a most cowardly manner. Would they find the whole action so funny if they were tasked by culling killer whales or sharks? No I do not think so. It would not be such a "blast” for them if it was more evenly balanced.

Sickened and totally disgusted. This must be stopped

It distresses me greatly to see slaughter and suffering on this scale. It looks incredibly cruel and barbaric. If the whales and dolphins are endangered then it is all the more appalling. Just because it has been a tradition does not make it a right.

This ritual is absolutely disgusting and has to be stopped immediately. I cannot believe that this has been passed on from so many generations and yet has not been stopped. It is not only senseless to kill these animals, it is also infinitely cruel- forcing them to bleed to death. I would be horrified to be a part of this and I simply cannot understand why people are proud to do so. Will these participants only be satisfied when all species of whales and dolphins are wiped out? Like all the other petitioners, I am outraged and saddened to hear of this. Please have a heart and stop this.

I started my support for dolphins upon watching the movie "the Cove". From there I only found out that there also are people in europe killing dolphins and considering that in Japan Taiji the most dolphins are killed I still believe that the Faroer islands are almost worse. Families, Kids watching the killing. This is what scares me. There is no respect to life. A living creature gets its head half cut off but is still alive, bleeds to death, still fighting for life. After you have adults, kids using those dolphins as trophies almost. We live in the 21st century and it is supposed to get better!!! We are far away from being able to call humanity what it is supposed to be. We, the humans, are the worst creature on the world so what does humanity actually mean watching those slaughters?

Sad Sad Sad Faroe island people, why must you continue to disregard all creatures rights? It will be the undoing of our civil lization.
