We demand that the city of Winslow Arizona take proper care of it's facility, treating the animals as living entities and not just something they have to do as a bother. We demand they actually spend an allotment of money on the facility so the animals can be cared for and not just ignored because you are a kill shelter and they are going to be euthanized anyway!
While people come here "standin' On The Corner" and have their picture taken, not even a mile away is Winslow animal control. Two dogs froze to death there last winter. A dog was surrendered in an outside drop off kennel and not brought in all weekend and was found dead Monday morning. Some dogs are double housed and one of them won't get food, there are no blankets for the dogs and when volunteers put towels in for the cats, those that clean, find it too troublesome as it makes cleaning harder so they won't put them back in for the cats & kittens to snuggle into. Council member have admitted that it has been poorly run, but promises to fix the issues have not implemented, just a lot of promises.
