Historically, wolves roamed throughout the lower 48 states, but centuries of misconceptions and hostility toward the species led to intense human persecution. These factors coupled with habitat loss effectively wiped out the species throughout most of the country during the twentieth century. Wolves are losing there life! please save them! Wolves rarely attack humans, they actually never do! please!! help them!!! they need you! did you know horses and lightning is more dangerous than wolves? they are! why kill an animal that doesnt kill us? please they are very important to me and you! i love wolves they are my most favorite animal!!! i cant help it to see them die like this! please!!! save them!!! they are at the brink of extinction!!! its heart wrenching to hear this! please!!! help!!

The gray or timber wolf's story is one of the most compelling tales of American wildlife. Once, the wolf was plentiful in most of North America, but it was hunted ruthlessly. Today, the wolf is making a successful comeback in some of its former habitat. The gray wolf plays a vital role in the health and proper functioning of ecosystems.

Although wolves have provoked human beings by sharing their domestic and wild prey without permission, these predators have withstood humankind's resulting assault on them everywhere except where the ultimate weapon, poison, has been used. Given half a chance, wolves have responded by repopulating suitable areas with remarkable success. In the process, wolves have gained the support of many humans and have become a conservation challenge%u2014one that is rapidly being met. This animal that sits on its haunches at the top of the food chain has become a symbol of the wilderness, an icon to environmentalists, and a poster child for endangered species recovery efforts. They are important to this world and us wolf lovers! Thank you for signing! the wolves are happy too!

many wolves are dying each day please help them make a comeback in life again by giving them a second chance! thank you!
