We the undersigned ask that you please see that Christine Abrams, originally case# 2008 CF 204 34A, now case # 08-20434MMA  is prosecuted and sentenced to the full extent of the law. This dog suffered a very long time, growing weak, looking and smelling a sack of food nearby. This is extreme premeditated cruelty.
Please show the growing number of those losing their homes or just moving, that this behavior will not be tolerated and will be punished!
Thank you for taking the time to read our wishes and making a statement about animal cruelty.

A society is judged by how it treats those that cannot take care pf themselves (Animals, Children, Mentally & Physically Challenged). We must make examples of those who carelessly and without remorse cause harm to animals by prosecuting them to the fullest extent of the law. Please don't let this helpless precious animal die in vain.

This type of action is why I prefer animal companions over human ones. What a heartless, cruel, INHUMANE thing to do!!What is wrong with people?!No matter what her situation was growing up that made her such a horrible person, there is no excuse. We all make choices, she made hers.

This person needs to go to jail for the maximum sentence (without food or water for at least a week!)as well as fined, and THEN probation for at least two years in an animal shelter for community service.

Animal abuse in a civilized country cannot be tolerated.

Fines and possible jail time or community service with animals. Definitely repeat offenders to jail.

what is the matter with this person she should go to jail for the maximum time

I think it should now be a felony, not a minor misdemeanor

I am on a fixed income $160.00 a week I have taken in 5 dogs that were eater strey or just no one wanted, and big dogs 148 rotti 70 pittbull, 50 pit bull a chiwawa with a fatty tumor a chowawwa thats is half blind, a cat thought was abused and newly a kiten that was half dead and now is great. On top of that i feed a coliny of cats infront of my home. Some times when i can not buy food i but cheap chicken quators and boil brown rice put some eggs in it with freash garlic to help with fleas and vegtable to feed all the babys which are all to fat lol. I can not afford front line so i dust the dogs and cats with seven dust which really kills the fleas and ticks right away. And to take it futher i keep dry dog food in the car so when i see a sray i stop and feed it. I am not rich but do the best i can to help all the animals i see, its so hard because when i see a animal in destress some times i have to turn my head im only one pearson and yes all my dogs are fixed and up to dat with shots. Dade county fined me 500 for my pitt bull that is so sweet she plays with the stray cats, if every one would pull together and help the animals the world would be a better place they are born into what ever situation they are born in to its not like they can get a job and do better wake up people they need are help.

I feel like the punish ment should be vbery harsh, I feel like they should go to jail depending on the exstent of the abuse, should have to pay fines up to 10.000 or more and after that must do free work in shelter dirty work no contack with animals cleaning cages ect ther is no excuse none if you can not care for a animal take it to a shelter its that easy, I feel like 5 years on each death of a animal of $10.000 fine that would stop it and make money to care for the ones who need to be cared for. stop treating animals like they are nothing they feel happy, sad, lonely everything we feel they feel so why should people get away with this are goverment should hang there head low to allow this to happen

It literally makes me sick to my stomach to think about the horrible and painful death that Ella suffered at the hands of the one person who was supposed to love her and protect her. I cannot comprehend how anyone can hurt an innocent animal and I wonder what kind of a human being could just walk away and block out the thought of that poor dog and the desperation that it must have felt.

I feel that people who are cruel to animals should be punished to the fullest extent of the law and should be required to receive some type of mental health counseling as this is clearly not normal human behavior.

Christine Abrams should do some serious prison time for what she has done to that sweet dog Ella. This woman should be charged with a felony NOT misdemeanors! We cannot overlook this terrible intentional crime. People in our society will continue to mistreat animals if this is not taken seriously. This woman should not simply get a slap on the wrist. She is an evil uncaring human being who we do not need in our society. I certainly wouldn't miss her. Please, please take this seriously. Thank you.

Please do not let this sad excuse for a women Christine Abrams get off with a smack to the hand for starving her dog Ella to death. When is this cruelty to animals going to stop ? It's not, until you as an elected official make the changes.I'm not asking for you to lock her up and starve her.I will not ask that you spay her even when my thoughts are, what if this heartless women ever has a child, god help it.What is truly sad is that I should even have to ask you to make a difference in these acts of cruelty.I feel it is our moral obligation to be the voice for those who can't speak for them selves.Speak up,this is not her first act of cruelty!!!That was when Ella's leg was amputated from being caught in a leash for who knows how long.PLEASE make Christine Abrams an example :Senseless Cruelty to animals is a felony and will not be tolerated !!!!

I believe animal cruelty should be treated the same as child and elderly abuse. They should have to register with the state and never be allowed to be a pet owner again. When you take on the responsibility of loving and providing for one of gods creatures,it's for a lifetime.

Give them the same treatment back, SOB

"We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals." - Immanuel Kant, German Philosopher. Hopefully the State of Florida will find the strength of character and moral fortitude to publicly condemn this act of sadism before she moves on to treating people with such callous disregard.

Those who abuse animals must be punished to the fullest extent of the law. As it is too many laws regarding animal abuse are not strong enough to deter people. By showing that we do not, as a nation, punish abusers harshly we demonstrate to the world that we tolerate abuse.

I can't comprehend how anyone could do this to their animal. Animals trust their humans(owners)to care for them. Can you imagine every day that poor dog waiting for her to come home?

It is easy to want her to have the maximum punishment but then I always ask myself what if it were someone I loved? I know for sure she should never be allowed to have another animal!

# 2,876:

It is outrageous that there is no law on the books with a stiff penalty for animal abusers. They should be punished by any law there is that could be applied

Depending on the abuse, a person could be tied up with no food or water, they could be beaten with a stick, chained up so tightly that their body is a mess of marks or whatever the abuse was, apply it to the so-called human.

In Cristine Abrams myspace site (now removed)she states that she went dancing on New Years eve. Danced till "her feet hurt" and is ready to go again. All while she KNEW her dog was starving to death. Now this woman is from Cocoa Beach - why does she have a lawyer from West Palm Beach??? That takes lots of money. More money than a thirty five cent pay phone call to Animal Control to get her dog so Ella wouldn't suffer. And the gaul of the State Atty to say that he is only charging her with misdemanors because our state law is "not clear" - putting the blame on Florida State Legislators. Will no one in this God forsaken state take responsibility?????????????? Christine Abrams, her family, her boyfriend Steven Kyle should all be shunned. Hopefully these losers will leave Florida. We have enough losers as it is.

It's bad enough that people are forced to foreclose on homes all over America. It's wrong to take it out on an innocent animal.

Perhaps this former owner could be placed in a crate for a while.

I believe cruelty to helpless animals such as this should be treated the same as if it were a child. People who would do such a thing to a defenseless animal would also mistreat humans.

I am a teacher and a dog owner. This woman is a criminal by any standard.

Someone so heartless is just as wreckless and dangerous as any other criminal who takes a human's life. She should be punished accordingly.

# 2,867:

Ella's heartless, selfish, evil owner should be held accountable for this horrific act.

People who are cruel to animals should never be allowed to own one again and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

It's sad that cruel treatment of animals is handled so lightly, they are living, breathing creatures like you and I. There's obviously something wrong in a person's head if they can do such a thing and what keeps them from harming a human?

I think they should certainly serve a much longer jail time and be banned from ever owning a pet again.

This is one of the sickest things I've ever heard--this person should be--I can't even think of a punishment vile enough for this act.

An eye for an eye--lock this person in a cage for a few months with no food or water. See how they like it.

# 2,858:

We can no longer stand for treatment such as this that is not punishable with serious jail time and severe financial fines.

Lengthy jail time, public humiliation and extremely high fines

# 2,857:

The woman who let Ella stave should receive the same sentence as if she'd done it to a close relative -- also dependent on her "care".

People who commit human-to-animal crimes should receive the same sentences as human-to-human crimes.

# 2,856:
3:00 pm PDT, Jun 3, Jana Mandes, Tennessee
We have to stand up and say animal cruelty is unacceptable.

This person must be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

# 2,855:
1:07 pm PDT, Jun 3, Nancy Doherty, Florida
You need to change the laws for animal abuse and make them 10 times stronger than they are today. All of the abusers should be fined and get jail time and put on DNA lists across the US !

They should be punished to the fullest extent of the law and more!!

# 2,854:
12:13 pm PDT, Jun 3, Nancy Badalamenti, Tennessee
Please do not let this person continue in this world believing that other living beings do not deserve the same respect that her loved ones do.

This person should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Leaving a living being that was in her care to die without any chance of being able to save itself shows intentional cruelty that was thought out and planned for in advance.

# 2,853:
11:46 am PDT, Jun 3, Tam Singer, Tennessee
Please do not let this person off for their cruel actions towards a helpless animal, confined in a crate and unable to escape to even ty to find food/water. These types of crimes must be addressed. Violence to animals leads to violent towards people. This effects all of us.

People as a rule do not change unless they are severely inconvenienced. If they were punished with "substantial" jail time or forced to work in a veterinary hospital giving constant care (always supervised), they may change the way they think about animals.
