WWF seal slaughter hypocrisy! Make a stand.

Pictures have recently come to light of Gitte Seeberg, secretary general of WWF Denmark donning seal fur in the form of a coat. This, from the very same woman who swore (see below) to protect these wonderful helpless creatures.  Such patent hypocrisy should under no circumstances be accepted.  This does nothing more then make a mockery of the company and those whom support it both through petitions and on financial level.
 
I (was a) supporter of the WWF but what kind of message does this send to the world??? I have directly emailed her and other members of the WWF to which no response was recieved.

-  'For many years there have been reports about the cruelty involved in the annual seal hunt in Canada. Hundreds of thousands of seals, only a few weeks old, are hit with clubs before being skinned. Some are clubbed to death but many others are left to bleed to death or are skinned whilst still alive. This is totally unacceptable and if the Canadian authorities do not put an end to this cruelty then the EU has to ban the import and trade in all seal products' stated Danish MEP Gitte Seeberg.


-'I am sure that no one will want to wear a fur coat made from seal skin when they hear this. We have to stop this cruel practice right away and start caring about the welfare of the seals' continued Seeberg.

This a very serious issue and I urge you to keep signing and sharing the petition. Upon receiving the required ammount signatures I will continue to pressure the WWF for a direct response to the issue in hand. I am in direct contact with various media outlets and will also pass on the petition to a number of other animal welfare organisations.
