In many cases, individuals who wear fur try to justify their actions by claiming their coat was made from animals killed on a ranch, as opposed to animals who suffered for days in a steel jaw leghold trap.
There is a misconception that the animals on fur farms, also called fur ranches, are treated humanely. Unfortunately, there is nothing humane about depriving animals of their behavioral and physiological needs. Fur farming is nothing more than institutionalised torture. Many companies, such as Harrods, may not be aware of the torture these animals have gone through, many raised just to be killed, even skinned alive, for their fur or skin. We need your help to show this company the distress they are causing people by fuelling this disgusting trade, and how better off they would be if they switched to faux fur. Beautiful animals wear fur, as do disgusting people. Thanks for your help!
Hi there, first of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to read this. We are not crazy tree-hugging petitioners, we would just like to make you aware of the damage you are causing by selling items of real fur in your department store. We understand many major companies are not aware of the torturous conditions the animals are subjected to for their fur, I certaintly wasn't until I looked it up. I can assure you that once you are aware of what is actually going on in this trade you would be ashamed to support it. I can't imagine how anyone could think that wearing the fur of beautiful animals trapped for days in a leg trap, in so much pain and distress that some resort to biting off their own limbs, is something that is morally ok to do. This petition is just to show you that there are a lot of people that have boycotted your store due to your fur items, and that you would have a lot more profit in the long run if you resorted to not selling items of real fur. I know that Harrods would be much better thought of and respected if this was even to be considered. Thanks again for taking the time to read this, no insult or offence is intended, just a plea for you to recognise the torture.
