Protect the Dog Park on the Cooper River

Protect the Dog Park on the Cooper River

Target:
Mt. Pleasant Town Council
Sponsored by:
The Mount Pleasant Town Council has been planning a space for public use at the foot of the Ravenel Bridge in Mount Pleasant. When asked what they would like to see in the space, citizens responded enthusiastically that a dog park would be ideal. In light of the public's demand, the town included plans for a five acre dog park in the project. Recently, there has been a movement within the town's administration to exclude the dog park from the plan to make way for a unrelated project.

Please join me in encouraging the Town of Mount Pleasant to honor the commitment that they made to their citizens and continue with the plans for the park. Aside from adding much needed green space to our town landscape, a dog park would provide an excellent source of recreation for Mt. Pleasant citizens as well as citizens from surrounding communities and their pets. The people were asked what they wanted and they answered. It is time for everyone to be heard.

thanks,

Jessica

a dog park would complete the town of thornwood! we moved here 13 yrs ago because of good schools, and we liked the country kind of look to it. lots of dog owners live here and it would be great to have it so close to us!

It is incredibly wrong for a city to not follow through with something as simple as finishing up a park where their citizens and pets and come together as one and enjoy the beautiful scenery. I hope this will follow through.

My husband and I are in favor of having the dog park at the foot of Ravenel Bridge, we need a place to exercise dogs. I believe the park should have every dog registered like they do in Sullivans Island. It would also bring in revenue to the Town. Barbara Jung
