The stand-off continues on the California State budget, with no agreement close.
With the stand-off on the budget continuing, the impact of the delay is growing into a major crisis for hundreds of community-based organizations that provide critical supports and services across the State serving hundreds of thousands of children and adults with disabilities, mental health needs and seniors.

With the stand-off on the budget continuing, the impact of the delay is growing into a major crisis for hundreds of community-based organizations that provide critical supports and services across the State serving hundreds of thousands of children and adults with disabilities, mental health needs and seniors.
We the undersigned request that you put an end to the California Budget Stalemate.
With no end in sight on the budget stand-off that could go on for weeks, nearly all community organizations and individuals who provide services and supports are or will be facing major crisis in keeping services or even their doors open. Many organizations, such as regional centers who provide funding to community-based organizations and individuals for services and supports for people with developmental disabilities, can continue probably through September - but many other organizations cannot. Some organizations have received no income since the middle of July.

For all organizations and individuals who provide services and supports however, the budget delay has created havoc and uncertainty on how to keep programs going. This puts our most vulnerable population in jeapordy.

Our elected officials have no concept of how much harm they are doing to the poor, elderly, and disabled.

Business owners who provide care will soon have to close their doors. Employees who already work for very little to provide services are losing their jobs and their ability to provide for their own families.

In sum, your resolve to bring government to a stop holds working families, independent businesses, and life-sustaining services to the most helpless among us hostage.

We need you to pass the California budget and release the hostages.

A lot ot the drain on CA economy (besides the federal government and wall street outsourcing, bringing in alien workers, etc., overpopulation and inflation) is the sanctuary gambits of CA. Illegal workers don't pay taxes, duh.... They do however take jobs away from tax payers. Don't tell me about how they only work in the fields. They myth quit working a long time ago. In addition to not paying taxes on income, too many illegals (and legals) register their cars in mexico to avoid the ca taxes. Gee, they want to live here but just don't want to pay for anything. Hmmm, a government can't run on wishes and there is no santa claus.
