The Amazon Rainorest, a spectacular sight.It has captivated the ones who have had the opportunity to go. We feel inclined to protect it now, we hope you will help by signing this petition. So let's start with a simple statement: More than 150 acres are lost per minute. Can you imagine? Let's go on with the how. How it is being demolished. Let's see... Logging, obviously these people don't care where they get the wood, so long as they get it. Farming/Agriculture. Cattle ranches. Mining. Road/Building construction. Dams, etc. Not only do these things deteriorate the forest rapidly, but they also contribute to global warming. Besides the fact that they are cutting down trees, which replace carbon dioxide with oxygen, they are using horrible methods of doing so. The land is most commonly cleared by the "Slash and Burn" Method. This method releases great amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. So if these things are so bad, let's learn what they are destroying. Animals' habitats for one thing. Did you know that tropical rain forests house more than half of the worlds species. Some of which haven't even been discovered yet. These animals are losing their homes. What else does the Amazon have? Hmmm.... Cacao (Chocolate), nuts, spices, rare hardwoods, plant extracts and more. We hope you will help us in the quest to protect this amazing rainforest. Please tell everyone you know about this petition.
