According to the latest Gallup poll Congressional approval is at an abysmal 18%. Yet entrenched incumbents overwhelmingly win re-election over and over again. It is very difficult for a new face to get into Congress when they face someone with the vast resources that an incumbent has at their disposal.
Every election cycle we talk about change, but nothing ever changes. How can it when we have the same lawmakers in for decades? These career politicians tend to focus more on getting reelected than doing what is right for the country.
This is not a Democrat or Republican issue. We need fresh ideas and this is the only way I can see to achieve that. The President's terms in office are limited, why shouldn't Congress' be?
