A person who will have the power to save tens of thousands of animals from needless torture suffering by being the victims of medical experiments and test drugs which will never help one sick human being.

We the undersigned hope that you will use your presidential power to appoint a new FDA Commissioner who will require the use of more humane, scientifically-proven, nonanimal testing methods when possible. We I strongly support animal welfare reform in this country. Every day, because of the current FDA animal testing policy, thousands of animals suffer and are killed to test drugs that will never help a sick human being. Please do everything in your power to change this policy!

Congratulations on the Presidency, Mr Obama, all best wishes to you! Animal testing for any purpose is againt my beliefs and those of many others. That any animal should suffer for our benefit is just plain wrong. Animals are sentient and feel pain; they have emotions, feel loneliness and isolation. Primates, of course, but even little mice, rabbits, cats and dogs. Even frogs deserve our respect. I hope you may have similar views perhaps, and that you may do all that you can to cause a little less unnecessary suffering in this world. Many thanks.

I follow the advice given by Naturewatch and buy any household cleaning products, toiltries and cosmetics from companies which I know do not use animal-tested ingredients. Please see The Hadwen Trust website for methods used as alternatived to animal testing. Procter and Gamble, L'Oreal et al are NOT getting my money, despite all the flashy advertising. I hope they go bust.

In a world that is filled with unspeakable horrors and tradgedies, I hope you can find a way to stop the torture of innocent animals. Animals were not put on this Earth for human beings to with as they please. They are living, breathing beings that feel pain and fear. They do not benefit from any of the cruelty we put them through so why should they have their right to life and freedom taken away. All creatures on this planet should have the ability to live without fear of torture. If we won't condone torture on human beings because it is inhumane, how can we turn or back on the torture that is committed each and every day in labs and testing facilities across this nation? STOP THE TORTURE!!
