Stop the Taxation RORT....taxing high income earners disproportionately is UNFAIR

High income earners/high net worth individuals have worked long and hard for what they have achieved. To be taxed disproportionately high, i.e., sliding tax rates, where a person earning $20,000 pa pays no tax, and a person earning $200,000 pa is taxed almost $100,000 (including medicare levy), creates a disincentive to achieve a person's potential. They have an attitude of "Why should I earn more because I'll have to pay tax, or more tax".

Time and again it has been shown that low income earners consume a disproportionate percentage of the services offered by governments, but contribute the least. If that is not an unjust and unfair system, can somebody please show me what is???

Advocate for a flat tax rate, say 20%, on ALL income earners, with no tax free threshold. Under a flat tax system, a person earning $20,000 pa will pay $4,000.00, and a person earning $200,000, will pay $40,000, still 10 times more tax, and unfair because high income earners spend more (more GST) and rely on the government for less, but at least those consuming the bulk of government provided services pay for some, and only some, of those services.

There are lifters and leaners in our society, and currently there are way too many leaners. By creating a flat tax system, a system that is fair to all, there will be an incentive created for those bluding on the system to get off their butts and achieve something more. By doing so, not only will they not be leaching government funding, but they will have a higher level of self esteem.
