Help stop a bad law increasing teenage suicide.

Sadly It is too late for many young Australians, but your few minuets here today could save a life and possibly a dozen lives over the next 12 months. 10s of 1000s of young Australian girls are at a higher risk of suicide due to school yard bullying. Many have become fat through having abandoned cycling. this is because they hate helmet hair. Low self esteem is one of the triggers leading to self harm Leading international Medical Journals such as the British Medical Journal have published findings that indicate harm caused by the compulsory bicycle helmet regulation to the community outweighs any benefit by 20 to 1 - There was very little change in the head injury rates before and after the law according to the BMJ. This means that although a helmet offers improved head protection in the lab, serious accidents on the road are still harming just as many cyclists. In some cases rotational brain damage is worse due to the grabbing tendency of the soft helmets. - The effect on childhood obesity has to be addressed and the best and most sensible way to get kids (especially girls) back on their bikes is to repeal this counter productive law. - The Aussie suicide rate is way too high compared with other developed countries. More cyclists on the road equates to less accidents and less obesity and less pollution.- See D Robinson’s BMJ paper at > http://www.cycle-helmets.com/c2022.pdf - Detailed info at > http://www.cycle-helmets.com Contact Prime Ministers office directly at > http://www.pm.gov.au/contact-your-pm
