Freedom for Working Homeless Women

Imagine a scenario where you go to work, not knowing if everything you have will be rummaged through or stolen by the time you get home...

This is a scenario that these vulnerable women face every day. Most of the women at A Woman's Place Homeless Shelter work full-time jobs during the day and obviously cannot bring all of their belongings with them. So they either try to stash or hide their possessions somewhere, or risk putting them in the existing lockers (all of which are broken or have no locks).

Women who do not have jobs and are looking for work will be immediately stereotyped and discriminated against when they walk into an interview with their 'bags' which designate them right away as being homeless. It leaves them to feel less-than-worthy and a nuisance to society on a daily basis.

We are hoping to raise awareness and enough funds to remove the current, inefficient locker system, demolish a half-wall, and install a new set of quality lockers, with smart-code locks.

This solution would provide these women with the dignity to store their goods in a secured place, allowing them the freedom of the stigma that goes along with carrying their bags around everywhere, as they try to build a foundation for a brighter future to get out of their current circumstances.

Thank you for taking the time to consider giving to this important cause. Any donation made will make a huge difference in the lives of these deserving women!

If everyone donated $3, we could clear our goal to install the locker units for these women.
