Stop the Killing of Song Birds in Cyprus and Spain.

At least 2 million song birds are illegally trapped in Cyprus by the use of sticky substances spread along the branches of trees. The birds cannot release themselves and either die of exhaustion or have their necks broken. This practice is on the rise in both Cyprus and Spain, due in part ot the economic crisis in these countries. But it is also a well known tradiiton in these countries, a tradition from the past that has no place in the 21st century. These birds are suppposed to be protected by EU laws but this isn't happening. It is just awful to think of these little birds, millions of them, starting on their migratory spring flights across Europe, to find themselves trapped and killed so brutally. We need to contact the governments of these countries and tell them we do not accept this cruelty and it must stop.
