Support Rhode Island Career and Technical Categorical Funding

Just as others groups, departments and agencies are already lobbying for their interests, we need to campaign for CTE. Also, it is important for the CTE Categorical Fund to be funded in this first year so as to make it less likely to be cut in ensuing years.

Rhode Island trails neighbors Mass. and Connecticut when it comes to financial support for CTE. We must acquire the necessary resources to keep the technology in our programs up to industry standards so that our students remain competitive in a global economy.

As you begin to deliberate on which budget items to support (fund), we the undersigned are asking that you make sure that career and technical education categorical funds do not end up on the cutting room floor.

Rhode Island's CTE programs prepare students to be college- and career-ready, and to succeed in the global economy. Please vote in favor of the Categorical Fund for Career and Technical Education.  Our communities and schools are depending on you.

Thank you for your support!
