It's sad that so many unwanted companion animals are euthanized by local shelters because they don't have the resources to become a 'no-kill' shelter. It's time to change the fate of these pets that other people don't want or can't take care of. It's only fair to be a voice for those creatures who can't speak for themselves, and help get the ball rolling for more no-kill shelters so that the animals who give us unconditional love, get that same loving care, no matter whether in a home or at a facility.

We the undersigned are asking you to spare the lives of unwanted companion animals and support the creation of 'no-kill' animal shelters in the USA. Sadly, most local shelters have no other option except to euthanize unwanted pets. All animals deserve protection and a good, forever home. Thanks for reading this petition.
We signed the "Petition for more 'no-kill' shelters for animals" petition!

Bravo for this petition! I envision the day when every shelter in the U.S. is no-kill. I don't believe that the private sector can accomplish this alone. This transition could be legislated on the federal level as it has been in Italy, Germany, and Austria which have been no-kill countries for many years.

Please support no kill animal shelters. Because of human irresponsibility these little animals are born outside. If no one takes them in they end up in over crowded shelters that kill them. It's so very unfair. It's our responsibility as humans to do something about this, and to be their voice. ALL STATES should have this. Not just some. It works perfectly in those states, so it can work anywhere. We also need a law that all pets have to be spayed/neutered- just the same as mandatory rabies vaccination. We spend billions of dollars in this country on everything from men on the moon to corporate bailouts. It's about time we spend some on the serious problem of pet overpopulation.

It is not the fault of the animals that humans do not spay and neuter them, or that they get left behind when their owners leave. We need to take responsiblity for the shameful euthansias of defenseless animals. This is truly an atrocity.

No animal deserves to be "deleted" from our world. We should do all we can to help the overpopuation of our "pets" and adopt and or eliminate the over population of our animals by fixing/sterilazation. Some are never socialized and therefore, never adopted. This shouldn't happen. We are responsible. We should never need to delete these animals...

I'm a pet sitter, independent rescuer,Regional Director for South Texas for Wishbones for Pets & in the beginning stages of becoming incorporated as a charity to set up a no kill shelter here in the Coastal Bend area of Texas.
This area is horribly over-populated with neglected & unwanted pets.We are in desperate need of caring people to become foster parents & educators to enlighten those that mistreat their pets. There are too many unwanted & neglected pets being euthanized every year due to human ignorance.

Now that we have spent an enormous amount of money to bail out the rich and famous, maybe its time to consider saving the lives of some many of our less fortunate companion animals.

My name is Eric Tunby and my wife Alicia is a true animal rights activist even more than me. We live about 10 miles outside of town and we have a big, big stray/feral cat issue. It started with 3 we took in when we moved out here and has now grown to over 20+ cats. We are finding it nere impossible to control it. It is difficult because we have no time to trap them, and even if we did, there is no place to take them that will just end up killing them! We have new baby to take care of and need help desperatly! I do not know of any no kill shelters in the area. If there is anyone out there that can help us, please contact me.Thank you. Phone # 252-342-8725

Why should animals be the one's punished for mans cruel deeds. We tamed the animals, and now because some people aren't responsible these animals have to be killed! How is that fair?

All shelters should be "No Kill".. I don't know how those who kill or abuse any animal can sleep at night. There should be required laws to neuter and spay all pets, so there is no problem with animal over population. When a pet owner takes their pet to a vet, it is required to have the pet imunized for rabies, it should also be required for pet owners to spay and neuter their pets, and the money saved from all the lost and thrown away pets can be used to them spay and neuter the animals (either free or at a very reduced rate). This will solve the problem..

Every life has a purpose. All animals are individuals and they have feelings and thoughts and they suffer the pain and the joy that we do. They are entitled and they deserve an opportunity to live.
