Gwinnett county Residents say NO to Waste Transfer Station

Target:
Gwinnett county Georgia, Gwinnett Board of Commisioners, peoples of Gwinnett
Hello all Gwinnett county Georgia and friends

HELP US EMAIL THE COMMISSIONER NOW !!... Please Click Here.

We are very concern that the Gwinnett county Board of Commissioners is about to approve for a Solid Waste Transfer station (RZC 09-003) adjacent to a Vietnamese church which has about 4000 members (including about 800 children who attending church and Saturday/Sunday school there).  This waste station is also a few hundred feet from a Gwinnett county public school, and a nursing school.  The proposed Waste Station will be located at a chock point of I-85 interstate.  The additional number of trucks and traffics for this Waste Transfer Station will surely block off the road to Gwinnett Mall, Discovery Mill mall.

If build, this WASTE TRANSFER STATION (at 4400 Shackleford Rd, Norcross, GA 30093 near Beaver Ruin Rd) will receive TRASH from everywhere, not just from Gwinnett residents.  Trash from all surrounding counties will be dump here in our "Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful".  What clean and beautiful it will be when TRASH is put in the middle of our county?

Please call each and every Gwinnett county Board of Commissioners (listed below), write letters, write emails, call your state and local government representatives for help OPPOSE to this Waste Transfer Station.  The Board of Commissioners will VOTE on this issue on February 3rd, 2009 against the wills of Gwinnett county residents (thousand has came to OPPOSE it on both hearing on December 3rd, 2008 and December 16, 2008).  The Gwinnett county Planning Department voted NO on it.  The Gwinnett county CID voted AGAINST it.  No one wanted it EXCEPT Commissioner KEVIN KENERLY of District 4 and commissioner chairman CHARLES BANNISTER.  We do not know why both of these commissioners voted for it on December 16, 2008 to build this UNHEALTHY, DANGEROUS, TRAFFIC CLOGGING, UNWELCOME Waste Station.

Please sign this petition and at the same time CALL, EMAIL, WRITE LETTER to each of the Commissioners to let them know you are OPPOSING this Waste Station.  PLEASE HAVE IT DONE BEFORE FEBRUARY 3, 2009 Vote.

Thank You
We the undersigned respectfully request each and every Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners member to Vote "NO" and "OPPOSE" to the "SOLID WASTE TRANSFER STATION" at 4400 Shackleford Rd, Norcross, GA 30093 - RZC 09-003.  We would not put a liquor store next to a day care center for our children benefits.  Then a Solid Waste Station next to a School or church is totally unacceptable.  All we ask is that our children and those who come to worship GOD has a clean and healthy environment to Praise our LORDS and learn to be a GOOD citizen.

Thanks for taking time to read our letters and helping us.

I am a parishioner at Holy Vietnamese Martyrs Mission Catholic Church, and I certainly do not want to smell this toxic waste, and foul smell. Have you ever had a trash truck that just drive by you every week, to pick up trash? You smell the odor? Imagine...you smelling this every single day, if it were built next to your house? Are you willing to smell it every day?

Well you see it's wrong for them to do this, if it's gonna pollute the area, and hurt other living things, and their habitat, they don't exactly own it, god does.

It will cause uproars, and what not. It will disrupt the learning of children, and their learning environment will not be fresh, nor pleasant.

There are enough available spaces that are not already surrounded by churches/buildings in other locations. This is not fair to people who have put a lot of effort into establishing the church of their religion. Would any of you want it next to your church?

Please consider about people who would like to go to the church

It should not be a waste transfer station nearby resident area

I attend church in the immediate vicinity and have the same concerns of the Vietnamese congregation. Besides being potentially unhealthy, malodorant, rodent infested and a damaging eyesore, unrepresentative of "beautiful Gwinnett" to interstate travelers and county visitors, it will violate our rights (as area property lessees) to ingress, egress, regress.

I'd have the same concerns if this happened near my home.

This trash site will affect my Church and a few other churches in the area. This makes no sense it will cause a major affect on the smell of the area, realestate, rodents population to go through the roof!

I absolutely oppose the Waste Station building next to a Vietnamse Church, a public school, and a nursing school in Gwinnette County. Also, I do not agree with Commissioner Kevin Kenerly and COmmissioner chairman Charles Bannister who voted YES on it.

I feel this waste station will be a misprizing act that will deplenish the levels of clean air in this area as well as attrack unwanted animals and insects.

The sight of this in the heart of a well-established business area will decrease the amount of consumers. Holistically, this will cause a domino effect of a decreased monetary flow and an increased crime rate.

I live in the area and enjoy much natural beauty in my subdivision including the aroma of the trees and flowers around my community. The last thing that I want is to have that interrupted by the smell of trash!!! Plus my family and I attend church down the street from the proposed area. The atmosphere will be greatly disturbed with an area of trash, rodents, and malodorous scents.

It would be both unsightly and dangerous to the community presently and for generations to come. We dont want it!

Even in these tough economic times, we must protect the lives of our children, their saftely and overall well-being. This Waste Transfer station may provide much needed jobs, but with a heavy cost to our community. I believe it's a cost that's too heavy and should not be accepted.

This area is impacted enough with the trucks from the rock quarry. This will be a very unsightly, smelly, pest and rodent prone area. This would be a slap in the face to all Gwinnett residents.

The traffic along with the noise of the truck banging their equipment will be a big distraction to Church goer and school children. Please as a 17 year resident Do Not Allow this to happen.

# 913:

I along with many other residents are upset that the county would even consider placeing a dump in the county of Gwinett. This could not only have implications with health issues but it could have a negative impact on the community. Please take the time to ponder about this situation.

The last thing I'd want my church to deal with is the stinch traffic and all that goes along with it...I don't want it!

The wrong thing(s) could be attracted.

I do not think that the location chosen for this waste station is at all appropriate. It would be located next to a vibrant active church and they do not need the extra traffic, noise, smells, or pollution that this site would bring.
